the new verizon plan vs MORE everything contract plan

the new Verizon plan would lower my bill, but I am under the MORE everything plan (contract) where I can upgrade every 2 years and only pay like $100 for a new iPhone vs. paying the full $600+ over monthly installments. So technically speaking, the contract plan is still cheaper overall because I am not financing a phone, right?

Am I missing something that makes the new verizon plan better?

i just upgraded my phone and plan last week. they said after 1/12/17 the contract option wasn't available anymore, for anyone.

when you have a 2 year contract and your contract is up, the access line charge went from $40 to $20. if you were to finance your phone, it stays at $20, and you pay whatever the installment is. once 2 years is up, it stays at $20.

if you did the contract and paid the $100 now, your monthly access is back to $40, essentially making the lease option a better deal, depending on the phone, storage size, etc.

at least thats what they told me and i believed them. i was also on the more everything plan before i upgraded.

oh i didn't realize that about the line access charge- gonna have to look into that more and see what makes more sense

my husband didn't use his upgrade yet, so I guess it would make the most sense to upgrade his device first, and then switch to the new verizon plan, because we won't be financing any phones then
