A was talking to someone who owns a business in Woodbury Commons and she said that one of her employees was picking up breakfast/lunch at the deli and someone on line said to her:

"If you want to shop in Woodbury, you'll have to do better than last year's purse"

Can you believe that?!! Now I'm totally self conscious of shopping at either of those places!

Someone on line in a deli said that? Wow...how upper crust of them. I would have said "F off" and without even skipping a beat. Unless my kids were with me in which case I might have laughed in their face.

It would never make me self concious about shopping there though...unless they are keeping the poor folk out, I'm going with my 9 West bag from 2003 proudly slung over my shoulder.

I live right here and I don't think it's that bad. I can't afford half the shops, but window shopping doesn't cost a thing!

I can go into Daffy's, H&M, pick up some stuff, hit some regular stores and also watch the people eating at Cippolini. That cracks me up b/c people are just sitting there staring at everyone that walks by.

I love the Shoe Box and wish I could buy every last pair there! If you are smart shopper, you can buy stuff there that isn't Chanel or Gucci. It's fun to go in the shops - it's Rodeo Dr. on Long Island.

It's fun to see how the other half live and if it makes people more comfortable to get dressed up, then so be it. I go there in whatever I have on that day. People who are really weathly are the least "flashiest".

I go to Crate and Barrel, Sephora, and the Gap and that's about it. I like the outdoor mall setup though.

The thing that annoys me at this mall is how many spoiled rotten, nasty kids you see getting Coach bags, Prada stuff, etc. I can't believe their parents put up with their attitudes. I never would have gotten something that pricey (and IMO even if you are wealthy, an 11 year old does not need a Coach bag), but even if my mom agreed to it, if I spoke to her the way I hear some of these girls talk to their moms, I could kiss that bag good-bye. Scary, I hate to think what they will be like when they hit the work force (if they work).

Growing up in South Merrick & Bellmore it was the norm.
It's the same on the North Shore too.

At Kennedy, the student parking lot always had MUCH nicer cars than the teachers. There was nothing unusual about kids driving Mercedes to school.
