thank you card etiquette

would you send a thank you card to someone who chipped in with others for a gift but didn't bother showing up to the shower (even though she RSVP'd yes) and never contacted you to apologize, explain or anything?

For those who would still send the thank you, would you address her absence by saying something like "sorry you couldn't make it"? or just thank her for the gift and leave it at that?

Yes, I would. Something like "I'm so sorry that you weren't able to be there (you were missed!) but thank you so much for your gift."

leave it at that. you'll have done the right thing and addressed it in a passive way.

I'm spiteful and would send a TY card to the person who did show up and add the person who chipped in name on that card! But, I'm just cranky, so don't listen to me. Chat Icon
