I would try and keep with it and if you decide to stop contact your RE first. Think of it that it is only for a few days and that this will help you produce more follies! What are you feeling? I know that hot flashes and headaches are pretty common, at least that is what I had. You can take tylenol if that helps. Feel better!

I feel dizzy and sick to my stomach. I have a feeling that this is not going to help me anyway so I just want to stop taking it.

You won't know unless you try! Many people have gotten pregnant from Clomid even without IUI! Hang in there

After seeing those number you posted I realized that this is probably not going to work. Plus the fact that it is making me feel so sick

Were you supposed to do an IUI cycle this time or try on your own with Clomid? I would try to give it at least 1 more day and see how you feel and then call Monday. Not sure if your RE would do a natural IUI so you might just want to ask them. Hang in there and feel better!

you only have to take it for 5 days so tomorrow you'll already be almost half way there. Try taking it with food or closer to when you go to sleep.
Honestly though, clomid is like the candy of fertility drugs. Besides a couple annoying side effects its not too bad. If you need to go further you'll need/want this under your belt.
I say stick it out and try to find a way to tolerate it.

I agree. If for whatever reason Clomid doesn't do the trick for you and you intend to go further down the road to get pregnant, there are alot of meds you will be needing to take. Clomid is the easiest to take since you only have to take it for 5 days.
Like others have said, try taking it at night when you go to bed.

You definately need to stick with the Clomid. Like the PP said, Clomid is the starting point. If for some reason that does not help you get PG, you will be taking a lot of other higher potent drugs that can give you worse side effects. Definately try to take the Clomid with food or before bed. You only have 3 more dosages of it!

I know you're frustrated that this won't work.. but please don't give up before you even start!
I don't think any of us thinks its ideal to take medications, do injections, etc... but you do what you have to do along the journey to get to the destination, KWIM?
Clomid DOES work for some people. Who's to say that you won't be one of those people? You really won't know unless you try.
Are you thinking of something else as an alternative to the Clomid?
I really think you should stick with it for this cycle.. try it with the IUI and then go from there!

I'm going to go against the popular opinion here and say this--if you don't feel right about how it's going on the Clomid, you have every right to stop taking it.
I will say this: My soon-to-be daughter is the result of my first cycle of Clomid. Being on it was no walk in the park for me, but it all came down to "taking one for the team", so to speak. I was willing to have some discomfort in exchange for the possibility of becoming pregnant.
It's your body--if this is not what you want to do, don't do it! Nothing terrible will happen to you if you stop taking it. But you need to ask yourself: Is the discomfort worth it to you?

I wouldn't stop - it's only 5 days on the clomid, and if this cycle DOES work out for you, all the angst you are experiencing for a few short days will be worth it. And, as the other ladies added, Clomid really is the first step of many that involve even more symptoms and side effects.
If, after one cycle on Clomid, you really are uncomfortable, then speak with your RE about moving to the next step, but I have to warn you, the next step is certainly more daunting. This is exactly what I did - I had a bad response to Clomid, so for the next cycle we moved straight into injectable IUI's.

I got pregnant with it also! To me it is a miracle drug! I took it right before bed. Third time was a charm for me.
It depends on what issues you are having too...it is the easiest drug to take and it really isnt too potent. It can have stupid side effects but seriously , it is so worth it to get that positive pregnancy test!!! And it is the cheapest route to start!!
Hang in there, do what you feel best.

I would speak to your doctor but don't give up on trying. Unfortunately all drugs have side effects and they suck! I'm on an antibiotic right now which makes me dizzy and gives me insomnia, but it's the only thing that's stopping the sinus infection I've had on and off for 7 weeks. See if your doctor can suggest ways to make it easier...like taking it before bed or not with your prenatal vitamin.

I have to agree with the others. Yeah, clomid can stink but what you can get from it is totally worth it. I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you are ready to give up after one day of clomid, then you are going to have a very difficult time on this journey. It is hard for all of us, but you have to keep in mind why are you doing it - that is your ultimate goal and the reason why we all go through the side effects and all the other crap that comes with IF treatments.
My twins are due in just a few short weeks and are the result of clomid/IUI. It definitely can and does work. Hang in there.

I agree with this as well....As much as taking meds stinks, in the end it is all worth it
<--------------------DS was Clomid/IUI
I am now 34 weeks along with DC #2 and ended up needing IVF this time around and the injectables are more invasive than pills as well as more $ unfortunately

What dose are you on? Depending on where they started you, they can increase or decrease next cycle to find a better dose.

Thank you everyone! I kept with it.
I know that this is not the worst that there is out there to take and I know that there are many ladies on here on far more serious meds than Clomid. I am just having a very hard time with this and I cannot see the light at the end of this tunnel.
