Re: Tequila Aficionados
There ARE cheap tequilas, but they're not fabulous at all. Depends on what your budget is. You want to at least get him one that's "100% de agave"

Re: Tequila Aficionados
Corzo....it is a very highly rated tequilla....comes in a silver, resposado and an anejo...ranging from 50-70.
It is in a beautiful bottle which pours lfrom a flat spout on top which is great for nice presentation. Here is a link ....corzo

I'm a fan of Patron. I like the dark Patron better, but I have the white at home too and it is good as well.

Sounds like he may be an aficionado. It's a tough choice when you buy something for someone who's very much 'into' it. Patron and Cabo are both good tequilas...they also have big marketing budgets and are therefore, popular. In any event, it looks like you might be looking at minimum $50 that you'll have to spend.

he just likes his Tequila..I've been out with him and he orders two at a time! He always pics the Patron Silver but mostly because that's what available...I bet he would like something even better. Of course, it's a gift, so something a little less commercial and gift like would be nice.
I would like to find it in a store and not have to order it online though.

I would like to find it in a store and not have to order it online though. Patron has 3 varieties, but they are not all white. There is another good sipping Tequila, Antigua Cruz, but it is gold tequila.

I agree w you. Like I said, nothing wrong w Patron, but giving a bottle of that seems like you put no thought into it. Cabo seems too 'young', even though the Co. is no longer owned by Sammy Hagar.
If you go to a decent liquor store, they should have a variety of silver tequilas. Just don't buy the one with the huge advertising. Maybe check a few out at the store and then go online to see what kind of ratings they get.

If budget is not a concern: Penca Azul Reposado; If you're not looking to go that high I went lean towards Cabo Wabo

My dad drinks Tequilla and likes Petron.
If you don't have a budget, you can get the Platinum, it's about $200 a bottle.

I love tequila and this is my favorite. (I like white tequila, too) Sorry I should have clarified. The gold & reposado are not white tequillas.

You can get several types of Patron for under $100. Patron silver you should be able to get well under $75, if not under $60.

Re: Tequila Aficionados
Patron, Cabo Wabo and Sauza Tres Gen. are all good sipping tequilas.
My favorite is the Sauza Tres Gen. It is aged in oak barrels which gives it a nice dimension to the taste.
All three can be purchased for b/t $50 and $60.
