I have a DD already and I'm about to meet my DS in about 2 weeks( due sept 8th). I am so excited to have a son and see the differences between a girl and a boy.
If you wouldn't mind sharing, tell me all the good, funny and heart warming things about having a boy:) also any tips would be appreciated too:)
Thanks:)

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I do not have a daughter but I have 2 sons that I can't say enough about... Although I'm sure some of these you may see in your daughter too.
*I love the way my son looks at me especially when he says out of no where "Mommy you're so pretty" (even when I just rolled out of bed).
*The way they run to the door to greet me when I get home...and I can hear them both yelling "Mommy's home"
*The way they wrestle and destroy the house in minutes. Yes it drives me crazy but I remind myself that they are just kids.
*The way they belly laugh when they because so destructive. I have to laugh with them. If you can't beat them join them.
*The way they want to help cook and are alway interested in what I'm making. I let them help...hey my DIL will love me for this
*The way they cry and come running to me. Mommy's kisses always heal things...INSTANTLY!
*The way they look up to their Daddy. They are just as much into being Mr Fix it with Daddy as they are into cooking with Mommy.
Oh boy I can go on and on...these are just a few things that popped into my head. I love them dearly and I can only hope that I raise them to be gentlemen.
Best wishes!

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I my little boy so much! Here are a few of my favorite things:
I love the way he tells me "I love you mommy to the moon and back" while looking at me with absolute adoration in his eyes.
I love the way he is a boy through and through- rough and tumble, lover of cars, trucks, sports and spiderman!
I love the way he loves his daddy. Their relationship is so special and seeing the two of them interact makes me so happy!
I love knowing that I am going to be a model of a wife and mommy for him. I try to take that role seriously.
As pp mentioned, I love how he tells me "Mommy you look beautiful" for no reason.
My DS is a total momma's boy and I love it!!!

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I have a DD and when i found out i was having a boy i was actually disappointed i just had a pre-conceived idea that boys were a lot of work and always on the go..lol and while that may be true what an awesome amazing surprise having a boy turned out to be! there is something so unique about the love you'll have for your little boy! i can't even describe what it feels like. all i know is that i love having a son, i am totally in love with his little face and his hilarious energetic personality! it is so different from having a girl but in the most wonderful way. you are going to love having a son!

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
i feel like people just assume that little baby girls are so sweet, i have a 14 month old DS and to see how sweet and tender he is just melts my heart. boys have that roughness associated with them so when they haqve their sweet moments its just so great.
on the other hand, i love that i can play rough with my DS. he LOVES being flipped in the air and tossed around on the bed. he laughs these deep belly laughs that make me crack up.
yes its fun to dress up girls in frilly dresses but i just adore the "little man" look. jeans and plaid shirts, layered looks, cool converse sneakers. i love seeing DS looking like a little miniature man. in the same aspect, he hardly has any hair so i dont have to worry about primping him up, takes less time lol
love knowing that i can hopefully turn him into a man that will respect women and treat them well.

My oldest is a boy. I him with all of my heart. Love seeing him play tag, cars, trucks, trains, and dinosaurs. He says "aaww mommy, you look so pretty". I have a girl also and my love is just the same. You really cannot describe it.

Perfectly said. I have a oldest son and then a daughter. I love them equally and they each make my heart melt but each relationship is different cause they are different.
My favorite is when he cuddles with me and tells me that I am the bestest mommy in the whole world.

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I have two boys- ages 4 and 2.
- Lots of love and kind words to Mommy.
- look up to Daddy and want to mow the lawn, fix things, etc.
-help in the kitchen- even though it can get rather messy.
-Very cuddly.
- Low maintenance. Getting ready for school/vacations is easy when they don't give a hoot what they are wearing!! Also, spend much less on clothing and accessories. No hair to "do" in the morning.
-Love to eat. They eat a ton, but burn off calories because they are always moving!
- They get into physical tussles a lot. But they last 2 minutes and a minute later they forget what they fought about. They let off steam and release their anger and don't hold grudges.
-Can take them anywhere- they would play in a puddle with rocks and sticks and entertain themselves.
-Pirates, dinosaurs, trucks, robots- all so cute and fun.
- They sleep like logs because they are constantly moving all day!

Tell me all the great things about a son
My DS is only 4mths old so I dont have a lot of experiences to share but I have to say he is absolutely amazing. When I was pregnant I wanted a daughter so badly but now that I have my son I wouldnt want it any other way. Again, he is still so young that I dont have many stories but I so look forward to the days when he starts telling me that he loves me and when he starts mimicking his father. Good luck with your baby boy, you're going to have so much fun with him.

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
DS melts my heart I don't know if it's because he is a boy or it's just his personality but he is so sensitive and can be so mushy. He is opposite of DD....not that she isn't those things, he is just more of those things if that makes any sense.

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
When DS smiles at me every morning when I get out of the crib. When I walk in to the room and he is with someone else, he sees me and lights up. Love when he sees the dog and giggles, he is only 8 months old and has this little belly laugh. The sweetness that comes from him even though he is so young. Love how he looks at my husbands picture when my husband is at work and I say Daddy he lights up. He is our miracle baby since it took us so long to have him and was in the NICU for 41 days and is the best thing.

They are the sweetest things ever! A son will look at his mommy like she hung the moon and the stars. Playing with trucks is fun. Just to name a couple

Tell me all the great things about a son
My little guy (4 in November) is my best little friend. I too wanted a girl for my first because I had no clue what to do with a boy. He is the sweetest and compassionate boy who always wants to take care of mommy and his lil sis and I can't believe how lucky I am. His energy, excitement and imagination inspire me and he makes me laugh out loud all day long. There is nothing like the bond we have...it is amazing. He is low maintenance and always up for anything. A true mommy's boy and I'll take it!
My DD is wonderful too and I love everything about her as well and she's a mush and more cuddly than DS...it is a true gift to have one of each! Enjoy every minute.

How could I forget this?! Any time I'm wearing any kind of skirt, dress etc he tells me I'm a princess and he's my prince. So cute!

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I have 2 little boys who are 2 extreme opposites. My oldest son Adriano is on the spectrum. He doesn't conversate very well but he sure knows how to get his point across. He is the sweetest most loving child. He tells me " come here" and gives me hugs and kisses when I get down to his level. He says to me " mommy's hands" for me to hold his hand when we were walking together. He loves to play with my hair and snuggle up with me. He is very affectionate and I love that about him because I am the same way. On the other hand I have my little guy who is totally crazy and rambunctious (sp?) He is the little guy who climbs on my dining room table and dumps a bottle of maple syrup all over.....(I can laugh about it now) The other day I asked him for a kiss and he ran away laughing saying No!!! lolol (that little stinker) He's the guy who's always getting himself into trouble and laughing about it the whole time... They are so different my boys but they light up my world! They make me laugh, they make me proud and yes they make me wanna pull my hair. But my little boys and I have a special bond. All mommies and sons do. I think to a daughter you'll grow up with a best friend relationship but with boys you'll always be a " mommy"

Re: Tell me all the great things about a son
I have two DSs, 3 yrs and 3 months. I will admit I still really want a girl, bc like you said, I want to be lucky enough to experience both. That said, my DS are the sweetest little guys! My older DS is such a momma's boy. Today when I got home from work, he said "Mommy, I missed you. Mommy, you are great, you are a queen." They are such little men and their mommies are the center of their universe, I bet you are going to love it! Congrats.

Tell me all the great things about a son
I love reading these post. My girl is not a girly girl at all. She is a wild one who wants to be playing in the dirt and jumping off tables! She is way to busy and hyper to want to cuddle! I am hoping my son is the calmer one;)
