Tell me all about you....and this site...

just out of curiosity...why are u on this site? how did u come across it? do u post often or not often enough? where do u do the posting? do u lurke on other forums, or just here?

well, i found this site via internet surfing one nite...hannah was about 7/8 months old when i joined...i met some REALLY great girls...joined this site to find those women- being a young mom, didnt really know anyone with kids...i used to post pretty often, but since emersons birth, have been randomly posting to some things i think i can give advice about...i feel HORRIBLE bc i really havent even LOOKED at any picture threads since ems birth, therefore, no commenting... i really only post on parenting- posted about 10 times on pregnancy and about 2 times on NFR, but thats it...u parenting moms are where it is at (imagine taking about public BFing on NFR??!!! hahaha) this is the only forum i belong to...i figure why join anymore? at least with this forum, since mostly everyone is local, i have a chance to meet some of the awesome girls....

ps-i am still so astonished by some of the women with like, 15,000 posts!!! it is so crazy, that some women have been a part of this community for SO LONG!!!

I was on LIWeddings since 2003... so I came over here when this site opened up.
I barely post compared to how much I used to. The baby takes up most of my time now ! Right now the baby is sleeping on DH's chest so I get to sneak on for a bit.

I found this site from LIW. I love coming on and getting advice and helping other mom's out!

I post a lot, look at my points--lol

I'm on the parenting board most of the time, but miss the pregnancy board, I also go on the fashion and celeb board a lot too.

I was on LIW and then took a break from it after some major drama. When this site was created I decided to join and try again. I love the info and the laughs I get here

I was on LIW when I was planning my wedding and I really loved that there was a plethora of people going through the same thing at the same time. Here, well, I like that there's so many different things to talk about. I go on as many different boards as pertains to me. I love to post on pregnancy because I've BTDT, and I know that the ladies on here were an amazing help to me when I was pregnant.
I would say though that this board is my favorite. All of you on here are like an amazing support system that I couldn't do without. Where else can you go where there are so many other moms in such similar situations? Where else can you get that quick reassurance when you need it? My family laughs at me for coming on here, but they also know that when I really needed help when Ava was an infant, so many of the wonderful women here came to my aide.
During the school year, I really only post at night, but now that it's summer, I love that I can post all day long. I'm sure that I'll have LIF withdrawl come September

I came across it doing a yahoo search for wedding stuff (LIW sorry) joined that took me i dont know how long to figure out the LI stood for Long Island (not from anywhere near there!)...was hooked by then...came over to LIF and have been an avid poster ever since on ttc/preg/but mostly on parenting...once in awhile on some of the other ones....i tried joining a forum for where i am from...totally NOT the same!!! i wish so many time i could come to a gtg with you girls!

I actually found this site while researching info about tiling floors. (I was just about to redo my bathroom, and wanted some tips and advice.) The Home section was very helpful, so I started checking out some of the other areas. I'm trying to be a very knowledgeable and hands-on father, so it's great getting ideas, and insight into child rearing gear, techniques, dos and don'ts, shows, etc.

I mainly post on Parenting, Home, and NFR, but I do check out Health!, Relationship Board, and This Sucks!

I'm also on about half a dozen other boards, mainly focused on cars......

I joined LIW in 2002 while planning my wedding and came over here when it was formed (was Miro127, changed to InShock when I got my BFP).

I post here on Parenting 99% of the time and the other 1% on the Teacher board. I lurk on NFR every now and again, and when I'm REALLY bored, I take a look at the Relationship board.

I really enjoy and appreciate all the support and knowledge the ladies have here. I definitely 'lurk' more than I post, but I'll post when I feel I have something significant to contribute.

I found this site when I was pregnant. I forget what I was searching for! I was thrilled to death though since the other boards I posted on were national. I've met some terrific friends on here I post on the other areas also. I don't watch TV so much, I don't have a SO to entertain, so this is my entertainment Sad, I know

i was an ultimate lurker for 4 YEARS before I decided to participate. Found LIW through a friend who was also planning her wedding at the same time.

I started on LIW in 2003 and probably only had like 100 posts if that. After I got married in 2004 I slowed the lurking down a little. Then when LIF was created I stopped LIW altogether. I really got readdicted when we were TTC, then preggo, then parents. When DS was 6 weeks old i decided to start posting more.

The funny/creepy thing probably is that I know a lot of history on a lot of people on here just from years of lurking and they have no idea who I am...but I swear I'm not a psycho...i don't even live on LI anymore

My sister (TJSPIDUR!) told me about this site. She was on the Infertility board and would rave about the amazing women see spoke with. I joined and then got preggo again. I am mostly on this board and NFR, though I don't get involved in the drama.

I love this board and I love you ladies. So many of you have talked me off a ledge! You are all so sweet ad many ladies are EXTREMELY generous!

I was on LIW when I was planning my wedding (from about 2004, I think). Then, I wandered over here. I first lurked and then posted on the IF board and was very superstitious... I did not want to post anything on parenting until I actually had my baby at home with me! I lurk more than I post. I am amazed at all I have learned and all the support and guidance all the moms provide!

Been a part of LIW first, since about 2000 (when I got engaged and was wedding planning). So different from the early days of LIW!!

I just morphed over from LIW when this site started in 2005. I went from being a bride, to a newlywed to pregnancy board and now I am pretty much Parenting board, but I do look at others: NFR, Celebrity Gossip, Home, Fashion, Diet, Food, etc....

I stay because I feel like I've become friends with so many - and many in real life. I love the playdates with my kids and some of the women I met are real and down to earth, just like me

I was on LIWeddings for a while to plan my wedding, then made the move to this site.

I started posting a lot when I found out I was pregnant last year, however, I have family and friends on the site as well so I had to wait to "come out" about my pregnancy until the 12 week mark and everyone knew. Now I'm on the Parenting board for the most part with an occassional NFR post here and there. I sometimes post on Homes too and anything pet related - but I ran into a situation regarding a pet post b/c I'm very pro adoption of pets and animal advocacy which can lead to heated discussions. I try to avoid those... it's too hard to communicate the really "sensitive topics" on line and when people don't know you and you don't know them. I like the site for advice when it comes to baby products.

found LIW when i got engaged, chatted on there for a while - we got pregnant on our wedding night so i transitioned over to LIF after my BFP and have been here since

posted on preg a lot now parenting and occasionally on celeb and teachers though i like to look at the home section for inspiration.

i lived in fl for most of the time i've been on here, so now that im back in ny im looking forward to gtgs so i can meet some cool mommies!!!

I'm not originally from LI, so when DH proposed I searched on the internet and found LIW. That was in 2004. I met some amazing ladies during wedding planning and moved over to LIF after my 2006 wedding.

I didn't post much until I actually got PG, then all hell broke loose! I typically only post on Parenting, but can be found nearly everywhere, especially as I work on weekends.

I joined LIF when they first started; after being referred by LIW, which I had joined in 2004.

Id say Im on alot... not as much as I use to be previously to going back to work FT.

I post mostly on Parenting and diet and fitness...but you can find posts on every board by me...
