Target DEBIT card?
Does anyone have one? Pros/Cons? It draws directly from your current Debit right?
We do shop often in target and I am wondering if the 5% off/free shipping etc is worth it!

Target DEBIT card?
We have the charge card and not the debit card. We were going to get the debit card and yes, it does draw right from your bank account. We went with the charge because we spend a lot of money there weekly and the way we get paid, it's easier for me to just charge it and pay it off at the beginning of every month from the prior month. The 5% is worth it if you spend a lot of money there like we do. Thats the only reason we got the card.

I got the Debit card and I can't see why anyone would NOT do this if they shop with a debit card normally. I get the 5% off, plus free shipping when you order anything online (which has already saved me a ton!)
I have no drawbacks from it at all!

As in people would make multiple trips in a day and some would be approved and others denied and they couldn't get a straight answer from Target as to why.
Did you experience this at all?

I never have had it happen, nor have I heard of that. In one day, it would not be uncommon of me to return something, buy something at the food counter and then split up my transaction if I was going to get a coupon. I never had a problem.

I have had their debit card for over a year. I love it. The savings add up!!!  It draws right from your checking acct.......usually takes about two days to post to your acct.

Target is HUGE on data collection of theri customers and I guess thinks it's worth the 5% to track all of your purchases. I read an article once that Target was so good at market research that Target knows when women are pregnant before they do!

Another great thing - this also works on gift cards - not on target gift cards or amex gift cards but on specific gift cards like itunes or Disney. Lots of people use this to get 5% off their Disney trips. Buy a bunch of gift cards and pay off the trip with them

also, they get you in there to buy 1-2 things and you walk out with that magical >$100 subtotal  I guess the ROI for that 5% is way greater than the 5%.

Other then the i just have to buy that because it's such a deal with the 5% off   haha! No gimmicks, just an easy way to save a little bit off your purchase without doing anything special or having to remember coupons.....I've already saved almost a $100 bucks and I've only had it for 6 months. (although my husband thinksiuse it as if it is connected to a bank account with unlimited funds) You can use it at the Starbucks in target plus like someone posted earlier..the non cash gift cards.

Debit card is linked to your checking or debit card.
Once link, its like using your card but on there card. Transaction takes a day or 2 to hit your actual account which is pretty much the only negative.
The credit card has the same benefits but is a credit card and will get fees if not paid on time.

I have the charge card, not the debit and love the 5% off. As someone else mentioned, if you order online, it is free shipping when using the card. I have had no problems with it. I got it for the 5% off.

I've had the credit card for a few years and love that I save the 5%. IT's easier for me to manage the credit and pay for it each month. I don't carry a balance and I don't have to worry that my account could be overdrawn with a debit card.
