talking to someone.....

has anyone gone to talk to a professional about they frustations of not getting preganant??

I see a therapist once a week, and if anyone says I'm crazy .......... No seriously, I find it really helps to speak to someone that is completely removed from the situation. They can be helpful and realistic. It's funny because my therapist has twin boys about 8yrs old and after a couple of months he confiding in me that they are the result of ivf. I was shocked, but it explained how he knew so much about my struggle.
I find that just speaking to peers who are trying help me to feel better. I know that I'm not alone and that it's OK to want something so badly. baby dust!

Its funny you mention that. I was thinking the same thing not long ago. I have read that the stress you put on yourself to get pregnant can actually prevent that from happening. I think it is easier to talk to someone at times that you don't have a connectionn with. If someone needs to go talk to someone I think that is great because they are doing whats best for them. Any one who judges someone negatively for going to a therapist is just closed minded IMO.

My RE's office provided an Psychologist who specilized in talking with IF couples. I highly recommend it.

I have been thinking about starting a journal again. Writing always seems to help me. When I saw my last therapist, it was a wonderful experience and helped me realize alot of things.

I was looking into groups...My RE has a support group. If it takes us much longer, I likly will, because this takes a big toll on many parts of your life

I am so in favor for help. I've seen a psychologist in the past for other issues in my life and it helped me so much. Id you feel you need to to talk to someone, please just do it, don't worry about people will think.

Now I just need to find out how to find someone... And if insurance pays... I going to look into it. I live malverne/west hemp area can anyone recommend someone?
