Talk to me about dreamfeeding
We recently transferred DD to her crib for her overnight sleeping and also unswaddled her. She sleeps in the sleepsack now. She handled both these changes pretty well and is actually waking less for the paci at night in the crib than she did in the rock and play. Anyway, she goes to sleep around 9:30ish and wakes at 3:30ish for a bottle. Then she sleeps again until 7/8ish. My DH doesn't go to sleep until 1 am. This is totally on his own, he's just a night owl. I'm wondering if we should do a dream feed around 12:30 to push back that 3:30 bottle. Maybe we can get her to 7 without having her wake in the middle. Did anyone do this? How exactly is it done? I'm assuming you lift them out of the crib, but do you change them? Has this ever backfired for you and then your LO decided they just wanted to wake up at this time? I'm nervous to try it but if it will get her to skip that 3:30 bottle, I might just go for it.

I think you always run the risk of something like this backfiring. Are you giving a feeding at 9:30?
I remember DD would fall asleep in the evening in the swing and we'd give a bottle upstairs before placing her in the crib or RNP.

I'm not a fan of waking babies to eat. Annoying as it may be for a time, I like to follow my babies cues and go with their flow when it comes to sleep and feedings. As soon as I see a pattern or routine developing I jump all over it but I've never forced anything with my kids and so far, it's worked out great. Both were/are great sleepers and started STTN at 8 weeks and were on consistent bottle schedules by then too.
You can try it and see how it goes but for me, it wasn't something I wasn't into but every baby is different. Good luck!! 
BTW..............my DS and DD both had that EXACT schedule of a bottle around 9:30, one middle of the night wake up and then back to bed for hours. At 8 weeks, they both dropped that bottle on their own. I don't know, I think it's a pretty good routine, I wouldn't mess with it.
I think if your DD was hungry at 1am she'd be getting up for a bottle. If you wake her up to eat you're forcing her to eat when her body isn't hungry. I actually think that's a mistake. It's good she's going that long of a stretch, I wouldn't mess with her natural hunger cues.

Ugh, I think you're right, I'm just sooooo tired! It is hard waking at 3:30 every night. I'm sure you know and can relate, I just miss having more than a few hours sleep at a time. I keep waiting for this bottle to push back but no go. I've just heard that dreamfeeding really works for some people.

Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. I hated that 3:30 bottle, it's hard having broken sleep plus.........I'm a night owl so to get myself into bed early was always hard. Needless to say, I was always tired. It will get better, I promise. Hang in there.

I do it! It is great for me. DS can't not eat for more than 6 hours, so I do the dream feed at 11 and he will usually sleep until 5 or 6. I didn't do it the other day and he woke up screaming at 1:30 am when we were sleeping. The point of it is that in the nighttime babies will usually have one long stretch, so waking the baby after a few nighttime hours makes their long stretch during when you are sleeping.

I am breastfeeding, so I take him in bed. He is very hungry and will usually eat for half an hour. I usually don't change him. If he had a poopy diaper I would.

if you read about dreamfeeding they tell you to do it around 10pm, i dont think much later.
you lift the baby out of the crib, feed him/her, and put them back to sleep.
this didn't work for us, btw.

I tried it a few times, just went in fed her and put her right back to sleep. I dunno, I felt she was so tired and wasn't nursing that well during the dreamfeed so I gave up. Also she really wasn't sleeping that much longer. Maybe an hour? She could make it till 4:30-5am as it was which wasn't too bad but I still consider that MOTN.
So anyway I tried the dream feed a few times and then was just over it and went back to the old ways and just followed her cues. She slowly started stretching out her feeding and sleeping later and later. And what I did was utilize that time (11pm) to pump for a freezer stash.

Hahaha - I thought I edited the post but DD grabbed the ipad from me and I guess I didn't hit submit!!!!
I was going to say that I dream feed, but don't change her at night anymore unless she poops - I stopped at 3 months. We also cosleep, so most of our feedings are while I am sleeping!
