Taking a deck down-questions
I've googled, looked on Brookhaven's site and checked here-but haven't found any answers to help me.
So, DH and I want to take the deck down in our yard and put in a patio. We know that there is a cement slab under the deck, and the previous owners needed to get the CO before we bought the house.
My questions are:
1. Will my taxes go down after taking the deck down-how do I go about doing this.
2. Do I have to pay for a permit to take the structure down/demolish it?
Has anyone gone through doing this, any info to help is appreciated!

Re: Taking a deck down-questions
I am not a 100% sure for Brookhaven but i know Huntington has a demolition permit - and that is how it gets taken off your assessment
