Swollen fingers & feet! Am I too early for this?
Hi Ladies- I'm 24 weeks and am nervous because I started back at work yesterday (teaching). I came home and my feet and ankles were double their size! I went to bed and woke up and my fingers were so swollen. Aren't I reallly early to be having these symptoms?
Do you think I should call the doctor? When did you start to swell?

I think people are different. I haven't really swelled, but my friend swelled very early and stayed that way throughout the pregnancy. She looks miserable, but he dr says it's okay. Saying that, my doctor always asks about hand swelling first, so you may want to call and check in.

Re: Swollen fingers & feet! Am I too early for this?
It might be different for me because Im having twins, but my hands have been swollen for a few weeks (I will be 27 wks Tuesday) and my wedding rings dont fit anymore. The doctor didnt seem very concerned. My hands are also very achy and I get pins and needles in them while I'm sleeping...

My cousin who had her first last year said towards the end she would get pedicures every 2 weeks or so and it reduced swelling. I'm also a teacher and will def try to remember to get them towards the end of my pregnancy. She's a hairdresser so she had to stand all day whether she liked it or not!

If the swelling gets bad call the doctor, but if it's just minimal swelling, don't worry it's pretty common. I've been having moderate/severe swelling the past couple weeks and my doctor ordered a 24 hr. urine protein test to see if I have preclampsia.
Try soaking them. Hope it gets better.
