I switched to the next size when I saw DD was getting frustrating with drinking (wasn't coming out fast enough) and was getting distracted easily

same here. It was about 3 weeks after the recommended age.

thanks everyone. AMelia's 3 months old and she's taking FOREVEr to finish bottles and gets mad when we take it out of her mouth.
I guess it's worth a shot!
I switched gianna's later, but she had avents, she still drinks out of size 2 nips can't get rid of that damn bottle, but that's another post...

I switched DD about 8 weeks...She was falling asleep working the bottle and never finished it. once I switched she was a different baby

I think about 3 1/2 - 4 months. Just be prepared for a big difference though. DD used to take about 45 minutes to finish one bottle with the stage 1's - when we moved to stage 2, she could down it in like 10 minutes!

This is amelia, she's 3 months old! It takes her 30-40 min to finish a 5oz bottle. I've noticed lately too, she's more gassy and taking in more air. I'm trying to size 2's today.
