Swingsets- Wood or PVC?

Went shopping today for a swingset today for DS and was overwhelmed by the amount of choices. What is your swingset made of and how did you decide to buy one kind over the other? Do you think you made a good choice? And where did you buy it? TIA!

I just posted a similar question. My DH's head is spinning because he is so confused. MY head is spinning because of the cost of the good ones.

We got a PVC one during the summer. It is beautiful and needs NO maintenance . It won't ever rot and doesn't ever need to be stained. That was a big sell for us as my DH is not to handy.

DD was 2.5 when we got it and she loves it.

PVC would be wonderful but it is so super $$$$. We feel like we could get DDs more if we went with wood. I don't believe Wood Kingdom's hype about cedar. I think we are getting our set at BJs. We'll still check Creative Playthings though.

We have a PVC one and it's great for the cleaning factor, but i feel like it was so much money and DD hardly plays on it. Maybe because it's been the winter and so cold, but I think for us, we should have gotten something less expensive. But if you are big backyard people and entertain alot outdoors, the PVC one is great.

For those that have a wood set, how often do you maintain it? We're worried about the price of upkeep.

We went with a quality wood one. We just couldn't justify spending the $ on PVC when we are gonna take it down in another few years. I invested in PVC fencing around my entire property. I need that to last forever, not a swingset JMO.
