Sucking in and holding breath????

Lately my 7 month old has been doing this. He makes a hug noise like hes sucking in air and then he holds his breath for a few seconds and lets it out. At first I was concerened that something was wrong but now he seems to be doing it as a game. He was doing it today during breakfast and I had to stop feeding him because I felt it was dangerous with food in his mouth. Its getting ridiculous!

I have tried blowing in his face (a suggestion from a friend) but he enjoys that and then sucks in even more so I do it again.

Any advice?
