Still in pain, any tips?
I'm still in quite a bit of pain and uncomfortable since the retrieval. Honestly, the worst part is the constant nauseua.
Anyone who went through this have any tips? I have peppermints for the nauseua, ginger ale, saltines.
Also, this is probably TMI, but I haven't gone #2 in 4 days!
I still can't get into any of my clothes.

You may have OHSS; you had 48 eggs retrieved, right?. Were you given dostinex? Have you gained more than 2-3 lbs in 24 hours? Do you have shortness of breathe or difficulty breathing deeply? Do you have infrequent urination or dark colored urine? If so - please contact your RE. Severe OHSS needs to be evaluated by a doctor.
To ease the discomfort, be sure to stay hydrated - very hydrated. Also eat very, very small bland meals.
Constipation is normal. TMI, but I have been very irregular since I took my trigger shot last Monday. The nurse told me to drink prune juice or use a stool softener. I am drinking Plum Start Prune Juice 2x a day and it has helped.

Re: Still in pain, any tips?
I did talk with my doctor yesterday and told him all the issues, he sent me for bloodwork this morning. He did say he anticipated me having a more difficult time than others because they did retrieve 48.
But I definitely have those symptoms, just no fever.
I guess I will wait for bloodwork to come back this morning...

I really hope you dont have OHSS...did they put you on dostinex? I had 35 retrieved and the put me on a low sodium diet(protein & complex carbs), and I had to monitor my urine output plus was only allowed to drink 48oz of water...thankfully I was ok but they were concerned. I also was constipated but I took exlax and I helped a couple of days later. Feel better!!!

Re: Still in pain, any tips?
I had my ER on Wednesday and really did not feel better until Saturday and I only had 22 eggs retrieved so I can not imagine 48 eggs. The recovery is weird because I still felt pretty awful on Friday and then woke up on Saturday feeling better. I hope the same happens for you tomorrow.
Just remember to be your own advocate when it comes to your health. I feel like sometimes doctors will push things to the side if you are not vocal. Its not that they do not care; its just that they have a lot on their plates.
Feel better!

drink a ton of gatorade, take it easy, and eat very small meals. it took me a few days to feel better and then when i got my BFP it came back like 50000X worse than after ER.
if you are experiencing rapid weight gain def contact your Dr. the weight gain is fluid buildup, if you have that they can drain it if it starts putting pressure on your lungs and youre finding it harder to breathe. otherwise though im not sure there is much your doctor can do at this point. i was never given dostinex or any of those meds. i had 18 eggs retrieved but my e2 was extremely high (like 6000+).
good luck and feel better!

Re: Still in pain, any tips?
I am on dostinex and doxycycline. But the doxy makes me even more nauseous.
I definitely have a mild form but I guess today they are seeing how severe it could be.

I had OHSS 3 times...I was told my my RE Do not drink a lot of fluids...monitor and make sure your input/output is the same or relatively close. Drinking too much will cause you to retain fluid which will make you more uncomfortable. Take some Tylenol (I didnt bc Tylenol doesnt work for me). High protein/low carb diet and NO SALT...
SENEKOT-S is a natural herbal suppliment. Have your DH go to CVS and get it and take 3 pills and you will go comfortably in less then 24 hours...or you can take Milk of Magnesia --that works wonders...
Feel better, OHSS SUCKS!!! Just stay in bed lying down and relax...
