Stay off the sidewalks folks

DH is driving home from the city with a friend of his. He's been out all night. The friend he offered to drive home lives 30 minutes east of us...nice that he offered.

I'm thinking this is re: how bad the weather was west of us. Some of the LIRR lines were out due to lightning and bad weather...

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

he's driving...he has been drinking and he was so nice that he offered to drive someone home that lives 30 minutes away from us.

he won't listen to reason and has hung up on me and told me to shut the eff up.

Nice right?

and he says he's not drunk. Meanwhile everything he has said he cannot recant to me. First he said he was at this one bar and then he said he was in his car.

UMMM that is really scary. I would actually call the police on him. Sorry but I have a friend who was hit and killed by a drunk driver. IT DISGUSTS ME

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

yep, I'm tempted. I told him if he gets arrested not to call me and that he can spend a night in jail. Of course I'm hoping that doesn't happen but it would serve him right.

I am absolutely opposed to drinking and driving. Especially since I know he's been drinking all night. If he had one or two and came home after a few hrs I know that would be fine, but he's been out about 5 hrs. If I was him I would leave the car and take a train.

No doubt. There are many implications of his actions right now. I don't want to think about how awful it could be and how many lives it could ruin.

I'm now wide awake until he comes home. B@stard

Same here. I thought I was missing something, since no one else really seemed phased by the whole durnk driving thing.

I hate drunk drivers... it amazes me that people can have such blatant disregard for other's lives. Chat Icon

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

i guess when you're drunk, you really aren't thinking. I know he's not. This is not fair to anyone. He insists that he's not drunk. Just by talking to him I can tell he's over the legal limit.

then he wouldn't answer his phone so I left him a raging voice mail.

I have every right to be angry..he's acting very irresponsibly.

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

Im 26 and have been married for 3 years. My mom tells me ALL THE time to call her if I need a ride.

Last christmas party I got so drunk that I couldn't stand. I asked the place if I could leave my car there overnight and I asked for a ride home.

that gets me. There were other options than to drive. He could have left his car there.

Rocky Point.

I guess it's relatively out east. People on the forks would not consider us out east but those in western suffolk and nassau do.

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

My bf does the same thing, he actually once told me he drives better with a slight buzz because he's more cautious....i think its bs and am completely against drinking and driving. He went out with a couple of people from his office last night, and told me it was a quick drink with the guys in his office. Well one hour turned into 4, and one drink turned into 5. He got to my house at 11, and wreeked (sp?) of alcohol. Mind you he was eating on a semi empty stomach....I WAS SOOO MAD!

I've tried talking to him about this, and he wont listen. I even offered to pick him up from the bar they were at last night (even though its over 20 miles from my house)

Whats wrong with these men?

(edited for spelling)

Re: Stay off the sidewalks folks

I don't know, but there's no talking to them when they are like this. After, he knows it's wrong and he apologizes..

He's 41 years old! When is he going to learn?!!Chat Icon
