Starting to get nervous
The past two days, I have been a nervous wreck about having the baby. All along I was fine with the thought of giving birth, but for some reason, it has hit me HARD the last two days. Im so anxious and I keep having panic attacks. Anyone else terrified all of a sudden?

Re: Starting to get nervous
Try to keep yourself busy - you're probably just thinking too much about it! I think you're going to be a GREAT mom and Nina will be here very soon so try to enjoy the rest of your quiet days

Re: Starting to get nervous
Gosh I have been terrified ALL ALONG never mind now as the time gets nearer!!! All I can hope for, is that the so-called natural instincts kick in and you are willing to do anything you have to in order to get that child out and into your arms. I also take comfort in knowing that there are options for me in case I need them (drugs) and that I will be in a safe hospital setting surrounded by nurses and doctors who know what they are doing.

Re: Starting to get nervous
This is what helped me. I used to remind myself that for centuries women did this in fields without drugs and had multiple children. You will be in the best care in a hospital being monitored by trained professionals who have great machines & medicine. It will be fine

Re: Starting to get nervous
Definately normal...
I will be totally fine one minute and then out of nowhere I get completely panic stricken. My heart beats fast and I totally panic. It passes after a few mintes and then I go back to being totally thrilled and excited for whats about to happen. I think its natural and the best way to get through it is to just breathe. As others have said women have done this forever, and you can definatley do it! Just keep reminding yourself of that and whats waiting for you in the end!!!
We are very lucky to be able to experience whats about to come!

Re: Starting to get nervous
I've felt that way on and off for the whole pregnancy but I am definitly feeling the anxiety more and more as my due date approaches. I just keep thinking that woman give birth everyday and are ok. Still doesn't make me feel any better.. Try to keep busy that might help keep your mind off of it.

Re: Starting to get nervous
I was the same way, throughout my pregnancy the thought of giving birth didnt bother me, then all of hte sudden the last 2 weeks I would cry at the though of it.
I had a c-section and it was so much easier than I thought. I had an unevenful pregnancy and I now say that I would go through the birth part again tomorrow but you couldnt pay me enough to be pregnant again for 9 months at this point.
Anyway, in the end its all worth it and the anticipation is the worst of it all. Once you h old your little one you forget about why you were worried in the first place!

Re: Starting to get nervous
Even though I'm not close to my due date I am sure what you are feeling is completely normal. As the others suggested just try to keep busy. I'm sure it's easier said then done but it's the only way to take your mind off of it. Just think, pretty soon you'll be holding your baby .
Hang in there, everything will be fine

Re: Starting to get nervous
Hey former date twin! You're going to do JUST fine!! You've done an amazing job this far and it only gets better. Trust yourself and your instincts, they will NOT steer you wrong. Hey, if I can do it, you can!! You truly will be amazed at your capacity for love, pain, will, strength, and mind. You are a powerful woman and you're going to get through all of it. It is scary, but it's nothing you, or any woman can't handle It is the most UNBELIEVABLE moment when you finally meet the baby you've been carrying for 9 (10) months. Focus on that and breathe....
...and she's almost here!!!

Re: Starting to get nervous
You are not alone, Last night I watched a birthing video and was up at 5 worrying. I keep reminding myself that our mothers did this and billions upon billions of people have come into the world the same way and that worrying will not change the fact that I will be pushing this baby out in a few weeks. Just remind yourself its one day. And then you will be in love with your beautiful new baby. You will be fine. get through it one contraction at a time and dont think to much further. Please keep us posted as I will to..
