Starting stims tonight (IVF) ... feeling anxious - UPDATES added
Any words of encouragement you could offer, I'd really appreciate. 
Tonight is Lovenox and Follistim (plus prednisone, but that's easy!). I got very good and thorough lessons today from Linda at Dr. B's office ... but I'm still feeling very anxious. I guess about EVERYTHING - not only the injections. I have had so many reservations about doing IVF ... SO MANY ... and now here I am. Ugh ... I guess part of me just hates that this is what I have to do to (hopefully) get pregnant.

UPDATE 4/25:
Thank you, everyone!! Your words seriously helped ease my anxiety.
I did both injections ... and kinda feel like a rock star now.  They really weren't that bad at all. The Lovenox did sting a bit, but hardly worth noting.
I'm going to take this one day at a time. Day 1 wasn't so bad afterall. 
UPDATE 5/1:
I've survived 6 1/2 days already, and so far, so good! I even managed 2 injections in the bathroom at my SIL's wedding last night! 
I went for monitoring on Friday, and I think Dr. B said I had 8-10 follies (I can't remember the sizes). He said that was "average". I'm going back tomorrow morning for more monitoring, so we'll see what happens then.

Good luck to you! I have no words of wisdom, b/c I haven't done IVF yet, but if this pregnancy doesn't end up being viable, then my next step will probably be moving onto IVF. I originally said that I was never going to do IVF and that I'd sooner adopt, and now I'm all set to do it if needed, so I can totally relate your reservations.

I was the SAME EXACT way b4 I started my IVF cycle. I was very overwhelmed and very anxious not to mention hating the fact that i had to do injections.
I think the day that I started doing my injections I didn't eat all day and was dreading getting home so that i dont have to do that 1st shot.
Once you get the hang of it its nothing. The shots are not a big deal at all. I know that me telling u this ur probably thinking ""yeah right" but ull see. U will look back on it and say it wasn't that bad.
We were dealing with a male IF issue and got lucky and only had to do one round of IVF after 8 failed IUIs.
I am currently preggo with twin girls and due in about 2-3 weeks.
I hops this kinda helped ease ur nerves a little bit.

if this was so bad I wouoldnt be trying for #3......Its more devestating that it comes down to all the drugs to have a baby...but it will be so worth it someday!! I have to believe that!! Its the only thing that keeps me going!\\\GL!

I felt very anxious about it when I first started... but like everything else IF related, it just becomes routine.. and I ASSURE you it's so much more manageable than it seems at first. You stim for about 10-14 days and once you're at the retrieval you say to yourself... that was it?! I stimmed?! It really FLIES BY!! You'll be fine!! Good luck!!!!
This could very well be the beginning of the next 9 months!!

I sent you a FM before I saw this..
Take a deep breath and know it's all going to be OK.
No one wants to have to do this, but, modern medicine can help get another baby in your arms- that's all you need to keep telling yourself  It makes it a wee bit easier.
Lupron, is designed to surpress your system. You'll feel like you're going through menopause at times- hot flashes, sweating at night- oh, good times!
Predisone- made me have a "moon face". I gained most of my weight on predisone and at times it made me nutty.
Everyone reacts differently remember.
this board is amazing and everyone on here!!!
Can't wait to hear you say you got a BFP

I felt the exact same way when I did my first IVF. It was so hard to do that first shot. I kept pulling the needle away saying I can't do this. I finally did it and now it doesn't hurt at all. I start stims on Friday and I can't wait to get a move on with this cycle.
that we both get our BFP at the end!

I felt the same exact way. in fact everytime i went to the dr they kept telling me my blood pressure was high and when i tested it at home it was fine, so it was nerves, but once i started i realized it wasn't bad at all. once i got the first shot over with i felt so much better. i had never done shots before either, i went staright from clomid to ivf. really it's not bad and remember keep your eye on the prize, that's what got me through. good luck to you!!

Good luck I was supposed to start mine last week. I was so nervous! Due to problems with my lab and needing more time, it has been pushed back to my next cycle. You will do fine.

It gets easier and you'll be a pro in no time! I think there is always some level of anxiety (at least for me there was) but after each shot it was an accomplishment.
