Spotting before AF

Do any of you have brown spotting a few days up until you get your period

I went off BCP in September and every month since I have been off of them I have had brown spotting about a few days prior to getting AF.

I was looking online do you think that this could be one reason?

One common cause of spotting several days before the menstrual cycle is due is low progesterone. The hormone progesterone that helps to maintain the uterine lining for pregnancy and when progesterone level drops, the menstrual cycle occurs. In women who are deficient in progesterone, they will see spotting several days to a week before their cycle is due. This can also cause minor infertility and early miscarriage.

I am thinking maybe I should call my dr to make an appt. Maybe he can prescribe me something.

Have any of you girls experienced this?
Have any of you girls been prescribed something for low progesterone?

I also have spotting before the full flow but every month the days that I spot can vary from 5 days to 1 night. This started happening for me soon after I came off the BCP and I was only on that for less than a year. Before the BCP, I never had spotting issues. My OB/GYN was never concerned about it. Although, to your point in your post, I am seeing a RE for elevated FSH and infertility issues but I don't know if that is related. My spotting days have been diminishing ever since I started taking the wheatgrass juice and accupuncture but that could be coincidence since I don't always spot at every cycle.

Personally, I spot light brown only when I wipe (sorry TMI) the day before AF comes. So lets say the full force (cramps, heavy bleeding, etc) of AF comes on a Monday (I consider that CD1) - then on Sunday (I consider that the last day of my previous cycle) I would see the brown when I wiped or VERY VERY little on my underware. I came off BCP not long after you - in October.

If your consistently spotting for more than a few days before AF then I would give your MD a call - can't hurt to ask - maybe it's something they can even advise you about over the phone.

I get this, usually between 7-9dpo. I had my progesterone levels checked with a blood test, and it was fine.
