No snob here! I love a big old festive tree. Clear lights and bows is pretty, but not for me right now...

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
Not me! My two little ones (7 and 4) help me decorate. Every ornament on the tree is different ... some homemade and some store bought ... so it's a mish mosh of everything. We hang colored lights that blink a lot and we have no pattern at all. It's pretty and colorful and the kids, DH and I all love it!

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I'm a totally Christmas Tree decorating FREAK! I definitely got it from my Mom.
One thing different this year is we bought a pre-lit tree - thank God! I was NUTSO w/the lights. Plus...the branches MUST be full! I HATE trees that I can see though...ugh
I also knew early on that when it comes time for us to have children....they're going to have their own tree to decorate...they can't touch Mommy's....
ETA: not much of a snob though...just super neurotic w/placement, etc. I do LOVE a wide variety of ornaments. Everyone single one on the tree has a very special memory...from a handmade gingerbread paper ornament my Nephew gave me when he was little to the Waterford glass ornament I rec'd from my SIL.

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I'm Jewish, so I don't have a tree, but I love looking at my friends' Christmas trees. As much as I think the ones that are all color-coordinated are beautiful, I know that if I had a tree, it would be full of random, sentimental ornaments. I love hearing stories about the history behind various ornaments on my friends' trees.

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I'm the biggest snob. Although I absolutley love ones with sentimental value, I'm a sucker for sparkle & if theres no "bling", it just aint my thing.
I love ornaments that twinkle- I love glitter & everything that shines.
I have a rather snobbish taste in ornaments- I love the "rich" & very expensive look. Thank god I'm only like that with ornaments because if I was like that with clothes, I'd be in big trouble!!!
I'm allowed to be like this- I LOVE collecting ornaments.

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I put all different types of ornaments on my tree BUT....I will not use colored lights and my tree has to be FULL and TALL. I would love to have a 10' or 12' tree except my ceilings are only 8'-lol!!

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I'm not a tree snob. I collect ornaments from every place that I have travelled too. Family members will also bring back ornaments from us. I love looking at each ornament and remembering where I got it from.
I do, however, love coordinated trees! If I had a formal dining room, I would possibly do a coordinated tree in there and then do my regular tree in the family room.

No - I love to see a tree with lots of ornaments. I am not a fan of everything matching on the tree. I think ornaments give a little family history as you grow each year.
this is how i feel

Not at all -- I love how our tree is an eclectic collection of ornaments we purchased or recieved over the years.
We are phasing out the filler ornaments we bought when we first got our tree which we are replacing with more sentimental ornaments.
We are the same way! All unique ornaments eventually DH insists on colored lights, but no tinsel since the dogs will eat it!!

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
Nope I love colored lights, tinsel, and all different types of ornaments.
We collect an ornament wherever we go and I when we put up the tree I like to reminisce with each one.
I also have a tree for Andrew and will with every child. Each year I will buy him 2 special ornaments just for his tree And they are dated.

Yes, yes I am. No garland or tinsel. Only red and gold ornaments. It must have icicles on it. Only white lights. And it must have candy canes on it.

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
No way! I put anything on my tree. For example, someone once put a magazine cutout picture of Busta Rhymes on my gift as a joke instead of a ribbon and he has been on my tree for 5 years now.

No way.....I have really old ornaments that I made when I was a kid.....Some were handed down to me....My tree is always a big mix and nothing "matches", but each ornament has special meaning, even if it's ugly!
This is exactly the way my tree is

I guess I'm a tree snob. I'm not a big fan of people buying us ornaments. Everybody seems to think we want Black Lab ornaments b/c we have 2 Labs.
However, I do love the Radko ornaments I have received over the years.
I also have quite a few hand-beaded ornaments that my mom made while she was pregnant with me. I'd love to put them on the tree one day, but it will be when our children are a bit older (the ornaments are made with stick pins.)
Ha! People are ALWAYS giving us Siamese cat ornaments bc we have a Siamese cat. I love our cat, not the motif!
My new Christmas tree theme is only white lights with chocolate brown and gold ornaments.
Yea I guess I am a bit mental/meticulous when it comes to decorating overall. I do my best to combine a warm yet sparce look. Who knows if it's effective or not

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
Not at all. I tried once in my life to do a theme (it was blue and silver). It was the ugliest Christmas tree you've ever seen.
I'm back to what I really love this year - colored lights, and lots of different ornaments. I think that looks beautiful.

Re: Spinoff...Are you a Christmas Tree Snob?
I think DH is a tree snob and that has unleashed my inner beast..
Since we've been together I started doing a different color theme each year. I now have tons and tons of christmas decorations with no place to store them since the baby is coming. This year I'll have to pick a color (or two) and eliminate the rest because there's no way I can keep this up anymore.

I guess you can call me a Christmas tree SLOB!
I love all of our ornaments. The cheap ones, the fancy ones, the handmade ones and the cheesy ones.
I especially LOVE when people give me ornaments. One of our favorite traditions for Christmas is when we unpack the ornaments. The boys like me to tell them stories about who gave us each ornament and where that person is now and why THAT ornament was given.
Our tree will never be in House Beautiful - but what it lacks in sophistication it makes up for in character and heart.
That's my kind of tree!!!!!!
