It always meant that childhood GOODNESS like Charlie Brown or The Muppet Show was about to begin.

my son doesn't get excited when charlie brown is on... Or like the grinch or Rudolph the red nose reindeer.... I remember waiting for DAYS till the night that was on.
I blame it on the fact that they have cartoons and children's programming available to them ANYTIME of the day (Cartoon Network... Nickelodeon)
We only had cartoons on Saturday mornings and sometimes after school.
Saturday mornings were MEMORABLE...
it stinks that he won't have those kind of memories...

I SOOO remember!!!!! Saturday morning cartoons were so good back then... now they are horrible!
My hubby told me on Saturday morning he would get all his stuffed animals and place them around him while he ate his cerea; and watched Saturday mprning cartoons.
recently his dad gave us a box of baby pictures.... we found one of him at about 4 or 5 and GUESS what... he was surrounded by stuffed animals, eating cereal and watching tv. He was like 'THAT WAS SATURDAY MORNING!!'

They even showed this when they played Wizard of Oz on CBS!!!takes me back....
Remember the HBO opening when they took you through that little town?
My sister built her own 'set' just like it for a project!
