Out of those 5 Im only 100% sure on the Hungarian...My father was adopted and Mom's real Dad...well that's another story Grandma was married and all but he didnt want kids so when Grandma told him she was pregnant he skipped town...she would never talk about him or give any information.

~Irish (more than 1/2). My paternal grandparents are off the boat and met in NYC shortly after they got here. My dad was born in the States but spent most of his childhood in Ireland.
~Italian (maternal grandfather)
~and a *teensy* bit German and Scottish
DH is 3/4 Polish and 1/4 Irish so  will be quite the mutt!

1/2 finnish (my mom was born & raised there)
1/4 german
1/4 norwegian
and who knows what else! my dad's background is a little sketchy
ETA- my DH always says american, but that's probably b/c he's like 4th generation american.....me being 1st generation, I identify w/ my finnish roots more than my hubby does w/ his background.

I am Puerto Rican and Italian. I really don't identify myself as either, I really just think of myself as American. My grandfather, who was born in PR, was shipped off to Virginia when he was 2 because his parents died, and he was not allowed to tell anyone he was Puerto Rican because he wouldn't have been able to go to school. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, so no one back then had a clue. He denied his heritage until the day he died, but considering his birth certificate had the address of the house he was born in in PR, there's really no denying that!

My heritage is 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 German - my Grandparents were all 100%
but when someone asks me where I am from I say "Upstate NY"
