Puerto Rican parade....

I used to go every year when I was little with my dad. It was a tradition and so much fun!! However, with all of the controversy and unfortunate events that have/had taken place in the past, I stopped going. BUT.. I have to admit...a part of me misses it alot!! Especially when I watch it on TV, makes me want to be there. I know it can get crazy with the crowds and stuff..but I go early enough that I get a good spot and I'm not bothered. I just love being there and really feel like I will keep that tradition up once my daughter arrives and take her every year. It's also amazing how not only Puerto Ricans go..iand that makes it that much more special.

I know what you mean, I used to go all the time when I was younger and when I was single. We always had a great time. When I started dating DH I stopped going and haven't been in 6 years. I watch on tv and miss all the excitement. Now that DS is a little older I want to bring him to the parade so he can experience all that is the parade. We may go next year.

I feel the same way. My dad used to march in it every year. When my brother and I were old enough we used to go see him with our friends. We used to have a blast. Then unfortunately I stopped going. Too many people and too rowdy. My dad has since passed but I had stopped going even before that. I hope one day to take my daughter when she's older so she can have the experience.
