Spinoff to Little Things you Love About Your Workplace
I am in HR and morale in my company is down. Any ideas for something special we could do tomorrow with a "launch you into summer theme?". We have any early close Friday, so it has to be something I can quickly plan for tomorrow.

ice cream party?
maybe get a few inflatable beach balls. or those lifesaver thingies the shape of a dragon and watch grown men put them on . take pics and print them and pin them on a bulletin board "summer 2015"?

Maybe cater in some BBQ type food and have a summer kick off lunch with a raffle for a gift card of some sort?

Get a catered lunch of burgers/hot dogs/salads, or hire an ice cream truck for a few hours.

I think maybe a bagel breakfast or something in the morning, because people wont' want to hang around for lunch if they can get out early and start their weekend.
at my old job they'd always cater lunch on the day before a holiday weekend and then let us go after the lunch. but we'd all rather just get out an extra hour early rather than have the lunch.

Agreed. Nothing says summer like ice cream. We had an ice cream social in our office and it was a huge hit. We had a station to make ice cream floats and then big tubs of different flavor ice cream with all the fixings- sprinkles, syrup, gummy bears, candies, everything and then some!

Thank you so much for all of the great ideas everyone! We actually aren't going to do it tomorrow, but are going to do an ice cream station in a few weeks.

Spinoff to Little Things you Love About Your Workplace
I always felt that around 3 Pm people start getting tired etc. I use to think and told my director, the entire office should take a fun break, blast some up lifting music and dance around the office. Sounds crazy Im sure, but, up lifting music and letting off steam can be very invigorating and fun and brings people together. My director liked the idea.
also, little things can help relieve stress etc, people love simple things that bring us back to a different time. bubble blowing is cheap and fun.
we had the bubble blowing at work and it was fun.
