I moved away... I went to college in CT and my parents were still on LI... I met my DH in college-we moved in together-I got a FT teaching job-got engaged-got married- and my life is here...I never looked back to LI- ONLy went Home to LI my freshman and sophmore summers and from then on I stayed in CT for summers too

I lived at home until I got engaged and I moved 45 minutes to where DH lived. After we got married we actually moved back to where I grew up...7 minutes from my dad's house

I live about 5000 miles away from my family. I moved away. Suits me down to a tee...although at the minute my mother is in my kitchen!

We moved about 35 miles away from Queens to NJ. My mom wishes we lived on the same street as her  BUT I do think they are considering moving to NJ when they retire.

Kind of both. My mom moved out east so I moved in with my grandparents (I had the opportunity to go with them but I was commuting to college and it would have been REALLY long to drive) and then when we got married, we moved to Queens.

My mom/step-dad and his parents all live on LI... My dad lives here in VA though.

We moved, first people in both families to do it and stay where we are. IL's are moving down in 2 years (right next door )

We moved away from my parents almost 2 years ago....we lived 1,000 miles away. Now my parents moved to Florida from NY, so now i'ts about 1500 miles or something like that
