Spent the last FOUR hours at the Ped
When KJ awoke this morning, he was BURNING up, to the touch (or so I thought)
I took his temp and it was 100.6....since he is only 2 months, I called the ped and they told me to bring him in at 10:50
we got there and his temp was the same, 100.6....they did a heel stick to test his blood....everything seemed normal there. The ped wanted to be cautious so they did a flu test which came back negative.
He then decided to test for a UTI so they had to cath KJ  so heartwrenching (his diaper was full so they had a hard time getting the sample and had to keep pushing the tube in..... he did well though and only cried a bit
finally, once the UTI test came back clean, the ped decided to do a blood culture to make sure there is no bacteria in his blood
we will get those results in 3-5 days...for now, we are under strict orders to watch his temp and if it gets high (101 or higher) I need to bring him back to the ped in the morning
it was SO sad to see him go through all of that, the veinous blood draw was the worst part, especially since the nurse had to stick him in both arms

I know, he looked so helpless....he was hysterical (red faced, crying hard, etc) in the beginning and by the time she was done (after the 2nd stick) he was just whimpering 
being a mommy is tough sometimes cause I know we needed those tests and I am NOW totally second guessing letting them do all that to him at once

I know how heart breaking it can be when they cry and/or look at you like "make it stop". You did good, mommy What if you didn't run those tests and something happened. That would be harder. Sending you lots of & that everything is ok.

It seems like a lot of tests for a relatively low fever but I guess its better to rule things out and get the correct treatment.
Now you know to pack snacks/bottles when you go.
Hope DS is okay.

It must have been so hard to see him go through all that. DS had his 2 month shots to day and I could barely take watching that! Hope he gets better soon!

what was her final diagnosis? Thanks all and yes, I know it was alot of tests but the doctor (and I) want to be sure it is nothing serious
