Speech Delay: when to be concerned
At what age would you consider it a problem/ when would you do something about it?
Hunter still doesn't really babble at all. He laughs and squeals, but that's it. George hasn't said any words yet, but he does babble.
(They are 8mo.)

Re: Speech Delay: when to be concerned
We were referred by the ped at the 15 month visit, which she told us was on the early side. At the time, I think my DS wasn't really using any words, not even mama or dada.

Re: Speech Delay: when to be concerned
Don't worry! I've heard when they're focused on the physical- like learning to crawl/stand/walk, they don't do as much babbling. I only really hear Dillon babble when he's in his highchair- otherwise he's too "busy" haha.
Hope everythings going well hun!! I want our boys to meet!

Re: Speech Delay: when to be concerned
babbling was on our 6 month checklist. At 6 months: Landon was saying words at this age. Travis babbles. Kylie does not babble but does laugh, squeal, and makes other sounds but not the repetitive babble that was on the checklist.
So to answer your question, I don't know! But all kids are different even siblings.

Re: Speech Delay: when to be concerned
No babbling as in no consonant sounds I would be a little concerned about, could be fine though. The no words wouldn't worry me- at all.
