Spaying question?

Hi Everyone-

We had our puppy spayed yesterday and I just feel so bad for her today. I gave her the painkillers the vet gave us, but she's still crying and is obviously uncomfortable. She also hates the cone-thing on her head. Any idea how long I can expect it to take before she's feeling better? I feel like a bad mommy for making her have surgery that's hurting her.

Maybe call the vet and see if there is anything they can recommend. When I took my Puppy in, she just slept when she got home and then was pretty much back to normal the day after. I was actually nervous because I did not want her to hurt herself.

Bella also did not have the cone thing on her head. The vet said she was not trying to lick the area, so she did not need it. Maybe she is uncomfortable because of the cone and not the pain itself?

PS - You did not hurt her, so don't think that, you are a good Mommy for getting it done

Aww- thanks. I can't take the cone off her head because she goes right for the stiches when I do. She seems to be sleeping now, so maybe it just took awhile for the painkiller to work.
