Spaying Question
First let me start off by saying I'm completely shocked. LOL. I have a 6 month old puppy and she is a maltese/yorkie. Well last night I noticed that she is bleeding, I thought she was menstruating and discovered that dogs don't actually menstruate, she's about to go into heat. I guess I have two questions. The first one is what can I put on her so that she doesn't stain anything. Second, how long do I have to wait now to haver her spayed. She also has an appt with the groomer on Saturday can I still take her? I left a message for the Vet and am waiting to hear back from him. Any of you guys go through this before? By the way this is my first dog, pardon the ignorance.

Re: Spaying Question
You can put a diaper on her, or may sound gross and weird but old panties (cut a hole for tail) and stick a maxi pad in them
I think at 6m you can get her spayeded.
eta: also i think pet stores sell things you can put on dogs for this.

Re: Spaying Question
Wait time will be one month before she can be spayed. Vet will make that determination. Also, I would check with groomer, if it were my dog, I would cancel.
