SorryWR: which one would you pick??
just because i'm bored- LOL i'm in a wedding in may and we went dress shopping on saturday. amazingly, 4 girls with TOTALLY different body types were able to narrow it down to two dresses... the bride is gonna think about it and decide. just for fun, i wanted to get your thoughts
this is the first one one it would be in a red with a champagne or ivory sash
the second one is thistwo again, in a red color
so... which one do you all like??

I think it is more elegant. The way it is shurred off to the side is often better for larger body types.

Another vote for # 2 here. Looks more elegant, I think.

They are both very nice. But I think #2 is nicer for a wedding.

Re: SorryWR: which one would you pick??
yay! you guys are with me i like them both, but am secretly pushing for number 2 i like the more elegant look. its a day time wedding ( 11 AM ceremony), but the place is very elegant ( a brand new place in NJ) so i think the longer is more appropriate for that. lets hope she picks number 2!!!

If the wedding is at night and not in the summer, I would say #2. It's more formal.

#2
You said all of the girls are different body types.
#2 is a full A-line. Any girl with curves really needs a full A-line. #1's A-line starts lower on the thigh and can look tight on the hip region.
That's how I'd choose given the circumstances.

Re: SorryWR: which one would you pick??
i would pick #1 if it was floor length. I think tea length is hard to pull off with some body types. I used red BL dresses for my wedding and let each girl pick a style. One picked one similar to the AA dress and it was really flattering.

Re: SorryWR: which one would you pick??
Definitely the second one. I'd like the first one if it wasn't tea length.

#2, I don't think I would like the light colored sash with a red dress.

I didn't even notice the first one was tea length, and I still like the second one better.

I wore the same dress (from david's bridal) when I was a BM in a friend's wedding last year.
(don't mind DH's cut-off head)
