Re: DH Issues - Sorry Long

You're better than me...I'd march in there & tell him how I felt and say "you wanted this first & now you don't?" Make sure he knows the importance of ovulation & baby making, maybe he just doesn't get it (like my DH). Men are NEVER too tired for BD Chat Icon Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Awwwwww Im so sorryChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My DH also seems to believe getting pregnant just happens and we dont need to use OPKs or preseed or take temps... I really dont think men understand that sometimes it just doesnt happen like that.

Does your DH want to have a family before getting surgery in January?

I would be upset too if we planned on trying and DH went to bed especially if it was because he went out after work. Im sorry you are going through this. I would def. talk to him about it, because you are only going to be yourself more upset over this.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you Yes, he says he does want to TTC but doesnt like to be on a schedule. So today I didnt say anything about O but he was getting into bed as soon as I get in from work. I guess he wouldnt mind if I didnt get PG before Jan but I cant imagine not having a baby for another 2 more years, at a minimum. I saved the OPK I bought last week for next month anyway so maybe I'll have better luck then.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i know how u feel. my dh says he wants a baby but doesn't understand that we need to BD at certain times of the month. he said he doesn't like having to be on a schedule. so what i do is when i know i'm o-ing i just act like i'm coming on to him. i think its actually more fun this way too. good lick!!

Re: DH Issues - Sorry Long

i agree I think that they just dont realize how small the window is for us to get pregnant. Its hard to get them to not feel the pressure like we do. DH said to me if we get preg great if not then theres always next time. That really hurt me. He had no idea how much it hurts to find AF visiting. I had to sit him down and tell him how important & difficuct it is for me each month. He needs to be on board 100% and its been better.
I think kids scare people when you think all that goes with parenting.

I wish you good luck. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation.

It really DOES only take one conversation in some cases. After I almost threw something at DH's head and yelled at him that BDing once a week would NOT produce a baby, he finally got it and we got a bfp the next cycle.

Now he goes around telling his male friends who are TTC about how much is involved in conceiving and you only have 4 days and how frustrating it is to have to wait a whole other month. He's a TTC convert.

On the other hand though, do you want to be pregnant and have a newborn with NO help from DH for the next year? That might be even worse. Maybe you should see a counselor together to work this out. It may help immensely.

Totally agree that a conversation can help immensely and i can understand that he doesn't want to be on a schedule (sort of takes the romance out of it..) but he really should understand that there is such a small window of time, and even that doesn't guarantee anything happening. Tell him that if he doesn't want to know about it, then you won't tell him when you're O'ing, but that he can't deny you BD time when you ask for it.
And on another note.. just because you didn't BD last night.. try again tonight. you never know!!
