Something that disturbed me today...
I use the A train to get to work...There are, simply, a bunch of nuts on the train (EXCLUDING you boosh  ) WELL this lady was sitting behind me w/her daughter. She was putting her down SO bad, I wanted to cry.
The daughter was about 10 years old, and just whimpering...I kept hearing the mom say "you cant do ANYTHING fkn right, what are you, fkn stupid". THEN she must have been checkin her homework, gotten an answer wrong, so she took her paper, ripped it up into little pieces, then threw it all over the floor.
I felt so bad for the little girl, I wanted to do something, but I was scared of the mom.

How awful. Emotionally abusive parents upset me because there are often never any repercussions for it and the children live with the emotional scars for the rest of their lives.

I saw something like this too the other day and it broke my heart. There was this 14ish year old girl waiting quietly for her mom by the cart in the grocery store. The mom came back (the woman really looked like she was strung out on something and she was wearing pajama pants) and she is telling her "you are so f*@$ing stupid. I can't belive you are such an idiot...........

i feel so bad when i see parents in public do that to their kids even when they pull them by their hair. let me tell you a true story i knew these people through a friend and they have this beautiful daughter and when i use to hangout at the bowling alley in port jeff i use to bowl on a league with them too he would yell at his daughter or dragged her by her hair pratically! which really made me mad! eventually they moved away and now i hear that the girl has problems i wonder why!

i agree! people dont realize what kind affect they are having on their child and if they do realize it they should take their kid away from them because they dont deserve to be a parent!

I heard a mother in the supermarket call her son (must've been about 3?) a "Loser". I wanted to grab him & put him in my cart. How much of a loser can a 3 year old be? Not drawing w/in the lines??!! She stopped because I gave her a really snotty look.
Over a decade ago, I saw a little girl getting punched by her mother in the IHOP parking lot in Commack. The father stood there doing nothing - and than saw me walking toward them. He kept saying "Janine - someone is coming. please stop" I vowed that day never to fear someone beating their child. The next time I see something like that, call the police & then beat the crap out of the mother.
Sorry to vent & get off topic - I just never got over the fact that at 24, I was too much of a wimp to do anything to help that poor little girl.

unfortunately i think it's a regular occurance on all subways. i see it all the time with really youngs kids too and i could just cry every time.

That is just horrible. I'm getting chills just thinking about it. I was in a store once and a lady had given her maybe 5 or 6 yaer old $10 to hold. The little girl lost it and she was saying to her "you little B!tch you better find that money"...and just being horrible. The little girl was crying looking all over and I couldn't take it anymore and I yelled at the mother. I told her she was an animal and that animals treat their young better than her. I told her she was the stupid one for giving her child money to hold. I told her I was going to call CPS so her child could be taken away. I gave the little girl ten dollars and told her it would be ok. I'm crying just thinking about it.
