Some really great news!!
We had our fetal echo yesterday and everything is looking good! No sign of any abnormalities at all. Good heart! It was nerve wracking at times, and did take me back to the time our firstborn was diagnosed with his heart defectl I walked out of the place happy but I still feel a sense of "Are they SURE everything is ok?" I guess this is normal due to my experience so I am going to call my regular OB when he gets in the office tomorrow. I am sure we are going to get a bunch of more looks of the heart as I have to redo my anatomy scan due to poor posiitioning.
I also have a lot of sadness that our firstborn had such a bad outcome and I feel so devastated for that. We are here, two kids later, and the pain is still there. I am having a hard time with the whole thing; explaining to people that this is my third child, but one did not make it. I also struggle with the fact that our lives did go on; and in the beginning of never expected that. I thought I was going to die along with my Liam. It is going to be a lifelong struggle. I am taking each day as it comes, though and cannot WAIT to meet our little boy. So grateful for him.

So glad you got great news!! Congratulations. And I am sorry about your first baby - I am sure that pain never goes away, but hopefully you find comfort in your 2 little miracles.

That is wonderful news! I know we can't control our emotions, but something to think about is that life HAS to go on. You can lock yourself up and close yourself off, but you have 2 kids to think about. Life goes on and there's nothing wrong with that - you will always love and miss your first son and that is natural, but you have to forgive yourself for having a life after his passing. Doesn't make it any easier and I'm not discounting how hurt you must feel to not have him, but it's ok to be happy for the good things in your life despite the bad.

This is beautifully said! I think it's ok to allow yourself moments of sadness, just as much as it's ok to allow yourself happiness and enjoy your daughter and your pregnancy.

I am glad they saw the heart and all is okay. I can only imagine all the emotions. I had a mc last year and I am pg now and even with that I have moments of conflicted feelings. There is no right or wrong answers but to try to accept the waves of emotions. Xoxox

I am SOOOO glad that everything is OK with your little one's heart! I can only imagine the mixed emotions.
Sometimes it is very hard to see why we are given certain things to struggle with in life. I do believe in Angels and do believe that your Liam is with the baby on the way right now, looking after him until it is his time on earth with your family.

I don't post a lot, but I remember reading about the loss of your son a few years ago and was completely heartbroken for you. I am so happy for you that you got good news this time and I pray that the rest of your pregnancy is happy and healthy.
It's so normal to have those feelings about your firstborn - how could you not? Unfortunately, the pain will always be there, but you will have two beautiful children to help you get through it.
I really wish you the BEST and I hope that day by day, the pain you feel in your heart lessens.

I remember when you lost Liam...I can't even begin to imagine what you were going through. Its no surprise you're still grieving years later and especially when you have another one on the way. Its bittersweet...but like you said, life goes on. One day you'll see your little angel again.
