YAY! I got GREAT news last night!!!
FH has been working for a consulting firm with 100% travel for 7 months. He previously worked on Wall St in mortgage backed securities (as a programmer/analyst) but as that was crashing, he had to look elsewhere and the money was good, so he had to take this travel job, which was very very upsetting to me.
Fortunately he landed a long-term project in Trenton, NJ. He's still been away 5 days a week, but he's close and I don't have to worry about his flights and he could theoretically come home during the week once in awhile. Now he's done so well and done extra work for other departments that he was able to put in for another project in NY (Actually it was offered to him when he mentioned he wanted to switch from NJ and try to get to NY). Apparently he decided after our vacation that he couldn't stand being away anymore and he wanted to show he's committed (I told him we're not even discussing marriage until he has a job in NY - I can't stand him being away) and he started putting out feelers to see if he could get anything in NY (His job can literally send him ANYWHERE) So now he's going to start a new project where he'll be working from home most of the time! The downside is he will have to do some travel to any other projects around the country who need his help. He will also lose his travel per diems when he's home..but he'll be HOME. We can cook dinner together again! And go grocery shopping and be normal!

You dont know how good it is.
We were apart for 4 years in college and it was SO hard. The worst thing was not getting to do the simple daily things together. Then when he came home I was SO happy and he promised he'd never leave again and only work in NY, but he really needed to take this job at this point in our lives. I'm so happy he'll be home. I'm a little nervous about a few things, but I'm glad I'll get to see him more than on weekends!

Well, our engagement anniversary is coming up justa fewe days before he comes home from NJ for good. Hopefully a nice dinner! INstead of going out maybe we'll cook at home! (Ridiculous as it sounds, I miss just cooking dinner with him!) Even on weekends we'd go out ebcause there's no point in him keeping food at his place since he's never there, plus our weekends were so frazzled because we had to fit EVERYTHING we had to do into them. We're not going to see each toehr a ton because I work late a lot, but it will still be better!
