So which comes first Clomid or HSG

So I have my second appointment with the RE tomorrow, so see if my egg is still there and see if I ovulated. He was talking about Clomid and the Xray of the uterus but I was so nervous I cant remember
So if I have NOT ovulated...does he try clomid first...or do I have an HSG first. Or is there something else?

I am not sure but I would assume all testing CD3 blood work, sono and HSG would come before any meds start.

I'm not sure, but I do know the HSG can only be done between AF ending and O. Good luck!

I believe HSG can only be done CD7-10 and a HCG (blood PG test) must be done 1-2 days prior to make sure you aren't PG!

i think they do the HSG first, clomid is supposed to stimulate the overies for eggs. If you do clomid first I think you can radiate the eggs from the xray.

In my case the HSG came first (haven't started any meds yet), but I was told that no meds are to start until I've had that exam. It's normal to be nervous!!! After my HSG, I smiled when he told me all the info., got dressed, got into the car and went, "Oh my goodness!!! I didn't even ask if any of what he told me was a health risk or what it means to do from here!" I wrote my questions down and called my RE and was able to get answers. From now on I'm going to bring something to jot my questions down which seem to only flow after I've met with the Dr.

i am the opposite. i have done several rounds of meds but never did an HSG. my RE recommended the HSG but since my insurance might not cover it - and my issue is related to actually ovulating, he said it could wait. so i have done 3 rounds of meds and never had an HSG. i get new insurance next month so i might go for it if i dont get a BFP once my insurance switches over.

so if you have your HSG on days 7-10, how would take clomid if the clomid is supposed to be taken days 5-9? do they start you on the clomid after the HSG? is that alright?

You can do it at the same time. You can start taking the clomid and go for the HSG before you ovulate. Clomid will stimulate your egg production; an HSG will determine if your tubes are open.
I had both done on the same cycle, and actually got pregnant that cycle - I did unfortuntely miscarry, but it can be done concurrently.
They will just ask you to verify that you are not pregnant. This is why the HSG has to be done early in your cycle - because the die they inject will kill an embryo if you are pregnant. The goal is to have it done before you ovulate.
