So what do we think of {UPDATE, pg 2}

this ring?

I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not. It was pretty inexpensive, and Rich picked it out all by himself, but I'm not so sure I LOVE it.

It will be worn on the right hand. It's a fun little piece...

When we were at the jewelry store, I saw another for the same price that I was in love with - but Rich chose THIS one over the one that I liked (he didn't know that I liked the other one- he hadn't even seen it.) It will DEFINITELY hurt his feelings if I switch it...

Mom tells me to tell him to deal with it, and get the other one (the one that I loved) instead....after all, I'm the one who will be wearing it!

Dad said that I shouldn't insult him by telling him that his gift wasn't good enough.

I don't want to hurt his feelings - he's such a schweetie

What do you think?

It's a diamond/sapphire eternity band with geometric shapes and milgrain.

That is a tough one. If it is going to hurt his feelings, I don't think you should return it. On the other hand, would he want you tyo have what you want? In that case, you have to weigh the options.

Hey I sure he wants you to be honest, so return it...I have been in that same situation...and stuff just sit in the box! Heck go for more Godiva! I say return it! He will get over it and like I said he will respect you more for being honest...

I LOVE it! My girlfriend has the same ring as a wedding band, and her FH just bought her two thin eternity bands that stack on either side. It looks awesome! But honestly, I love it, regardless!

Personally, I love the ring Nic. Its really so so pretty, totally something I would wear

BUT that is me, and this is you and your ring. I dont even know what advice to give you because on the one hand, you dont want to hurt Rich's feelings BUT if you just aren't "feeling" the ring, then its something that will always bother you a little bit

How long do you have until you'd have to make a decision (meaning how long until you could go to the jewler and exchange it for the ring you LOVE)

The one that I loved was not different geometric bezels -

it was a channel setting, edges were all milgrained, and the stones were alternating [3 round diamonds][3 princess cut sapphires].

It had smoother edges, but NO antiquey engraving on the sides.

Don't get me wrong, its not that I DISLIKE this ring, I just loved the other one.

on the other hand, this one is very DIFFERENT - I've never seen the same ring on anyone's hand...

If you really love the other ring, then tell Rich. I'm sure he would much rather you have a ring that you absolutely love! Hell, maybe he'll let you have both

It sounds like he would be really upset. If you like this one I would keep it, the sentiment of DH picking it on his own should make up the difference.

this is what i learned when it comes to jewerly and my DH. i would be sweetly honest to him. BC in the end your the one that has to wear it and look at it all day long. Of course he will be uspet at first but like ervythign else it will wear off. when u spend that kind of money u should feel good about it and u need to be happy with it. good luck!!!

I say keep it & tell him you want the other want for the next gift giving event. oh and definitely more truffles...

ETA. I do like the ring a lot-it's different and I haven't seen one like that on anyone - which is what I like about it.

Unless you hate it, and it doesn't sound like you do - I would probably keep it. He seems very upset and jewelry is very personal. You have many more years with him to get jewelry and coach him on things you like but, I would probably keep this!

ETA - I didn't LOVE the the first necklace that Jamie got for me, but it grew on me because it was from him and he picked it out all by himself!!

Brad is of the opinion that he would rather me really love what I get him than settle for something that I don't like as much. However, it doesn't seem that Rich feels that way. If it is really going to hurt his feelings, I would keep the ring.

Dh ALWAYS returns things i buy him and it hurts, mostly because i NEVER return stuff he gets me if i dont "love" them. But i guess its good to be honest, but atleast when you see it you will think that HE picked out and purchased this for YOU, rather than he just bought it and didnt do any thinking or deciding
