When I got pg with my 1st I was a little over 200lbs. I did not have a bad pregnancy at all, but I don't gained 12.5 lbs with my entire pg.
I think it's great to try to get down a little weiight and either way you'll be healthier for it.

have you spoken to your doctor about losing? low/no carb loses weight initially, but unless you swear off carbs forever, most people gain back the weight and more when they go back on carbs. it might be more healthy to make the switch to "good" carbs like whole wheat pasta and bread, etc. the loss may be slower, but will most likely be more permanent.

My dr actually said to do WW... I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS eat whole wheat, fruit... I just have a real problem with losing weight... I decided to do the low carb for the short term to give me a "boost"...
