So Unfair- I hate the military!
My brother-in-law just returned from his second tour in Iraq 6 days ago, just to be told today that he leaves for Afghanistan in 2 months. We are all so upset right now!
THIS WAR JUST NEEDS TO END

I have three former students who are on their 4th plus tours of duty
I heard two are not "doing well"... I'm afraid to think what that means

My DD's boyfriend enlisted when he was 19 and was in Afganistan and Iraq for 5 years.

They are already married (my father married them in a park with just immediate family there last August) but they are having their "real wedding" this June at the Watermill. They'll then go on their honeymoon and he'll leave shortly after that! My heart breaks for them. They got married and 4 days later he left for desert training, he returned home for 2 weeks before being deployed, and now he'll only be home for two months!

I am so sorry for your sister, Marie.  My SIL goes through this so I know first hand what you are feeling. It's a terrible feeling. It's just not fair.

My husband is never home for longer then 6 weeks or so between deployments I can relate.
My husband was deployed September -Nov came home days before our 2nd was born got a week off and then went elsewhere and redeployed in Feb came back last month but has only been home for two days and had to leave again.
If your sister needs support FM me there are lots of great message boards out there.
Military wives are a great breed of women and no one understands us.
My husband doesn't get out until 2014 but its been a wild crazy ride and I wouldn't give up one second of it. We have great communication skills which is great since we have limited communication and have to be very creative and we make every last second count. Dh luckily will be home this weekend for 72 hours for DS's 3rd Birthday but will be deployed for Our 6th Wedding Anniversary, Halloween, Baby 1st Birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.
