So sad...
After having my dog for 8 years, we had to put her down today. That had to be one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. I held her during the procedure and didn't want to let her go.
I hope my first daughter is at peace.

Thanks ladies. The worse part is when DD asks for her..that breaks my heart. Also when we came home and opened the gate to the house, we were accustomed to her barking...and when there was silence DH and I looked at each other and lost it again.
Thanks again ladies. I know it will get easier, but I can't help but feel like I don't want anymore pets. It's just too hard.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll never forget how upset my brother and parents were when they had to put their dog down. It's like losing a family member.

OMG, I am so sorry. I love my dogs as much as I love my baby, so I understand your pain. I am proud of you that you had the courage to stay with her in her last minutes with you on Earth.

In time you may feel ready to feel that love again, a dog's love is like no other, it's unconditional. I know no other dog could ever replace your girl...but just remember there is another baby out there who would love your love and care....when you are ready that is.
