Re: So Sad!!!

This is beyond the scope of reason! I can't understand this AT ALL....why have a DOG??? WHY WHY WHY???

This really is a sickness. People who abuse animals usually move on to abusing other humans....there really should be steeper fines.....I would love to see this guy locked in a closet and starved!

Re: So Sad!!!

OK - I have firsthand information, NOT newspaper info.

The man does NOT own the house - the owner of the house is an sick, elderly gentleman that requires fulltime care.

The man who starved the dog, Jason, was living rent-free in the basement apt. Jason used to be Jerry's (the old man) aide, until his medical condition got so bad that he needed a certified health aide. Jason still helped around the house with the cooking and cleaning.

The past few months, Jason hasn't been himself. We all seem to think he turned to drugs. My boss is the Physical Therapist listed in the article as finding the poor dog. He provides PT to Jerry 5 days a week.

The other day, my boss asked Jerry what the hell that smell was coming from Jason's apartment, and he said he didn't know (he doesn't move well - mostly stays in his bed/chair all day.) My boss and the home aide opened the door, and found the place trashed. Food, takeout containers, bugs, etc. They planned to go back in the next day to clean.

The next day, they went in and opened the closet door, where they found that poor dog in his cage, IN THE CLOSET. Chat Icon

They immediately called the proper authorities. Jason was in Florida with his daughter when the dog was discovered - and when he returned, he was promptly arrested.

What a SICK SICK SICK thing to do - and so unexpected of a man that took care of an elderly man for a living. The poor dog was a birthday gift for his daughter (who, thank God, is with her grandparents now.)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't do anything to the house (not that anyone here would). Jerry (the old man) had absolutely nothing to do with this.

Jason had 2 other animals, and just let them out the front door a couple weeks ago. I wish he had done that for the doggy too. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: So Sad!!!

I hope he gets hit by a bus, and lives long enough to be in pain all the way to the hospital, and then drops dead.

My god, I sound horrible, but animal cruelty is the one thing that sends me over the edge. That son of a b*(tch. Rot in hell.
