Re: So NYC Workers - Who's in?
I'm in too. My company sent a private charter bus to pick people up at different stops. I get the bus to get us home too tonight.

I'm in. I walked 27 blocks from Penn. I'm 5 months pregnant. I wont be in tomorrow if they are still on strike, I'm literally in pain.
Kathy, take it easy today!!!!
I just got in 10 minutes ago from Brooklyn. Honestly, the worst part was getting to the bridge. It was smooth sailing on; I was surprised.

Re: So NYC Workers - Who's in?
Just for giggles, I called DH when I got in and told him I didn't know where I was. It looked like I wound up in Astoria but I wasn't completely sure. I said I *might* be able to get to my office by 3 this afternoon.
My hubby is too easy to mess with sometimes.

Thanks Flee. I'm so wiped out - my stomach is still hurting. I keep telling "Wigglie" that I'm sorry for taking him/her on such a long walk this morning...but he/she is still pretty mad I think.

I am sure "Wigglie" just wants mommy to feel better and not stress out.

I made it into midtown A-OK
I cannot even begin to complain .. I take MetroNorth from Scarsdale. Luckily the conductors did not walk out in "sympathy" so it was business as usual
My trains were running maybe 10 mins late and a tad crowded BUT overall it was a breeze.. I took an earlier train than normal and made it in just on time
Now as for the rest of my co-workers... lets just say I'm probably the only assistant on my floor right now
That's good to hear. I feel a little guilty for not going in, but I didn't know how to get from Grand Central to Bowling Green. My boss told me to not try & walk 5 1/2 miles & I didn't think I could get a cab.

Oh no way, no guilt!
If I didn't work in midtown and could easily walk from Grand Central to my office on 7th Ave, I would have thought twice about trying to get here myself . Its way too cold out to walk THAT far

Tonight will be a nightmare. I'm still trying to figure out what the best way to approach Penn Station will be.
I just heard on the news there is going to be a queing system from the entrances outside of Penn. So be prepared to wait. I think my DH is going to walk to Brooklyn, since he is downtown already....but you are still talking 5+ miles.

Yeah, there is. It's part of the plan... to have us wait outside in 12 degree windchill I REALLY wish this happened in July! But anyway, for anyone who didn't get the brochure this morning, below is the plan for the lineups:

Re: So NYC Workers - Who's in?
Did anyone take NJ PATH?
They are not affected by the strike & I heard that it is possible to to go from 33rd street to the World Trade cetner stop. ( I think going into NJ for a stop or two)
Did anybody do that? Was it nuts?
I have to try that tomorrow, if this is still going on.
