So, I went to the dr. on Monday
I've been getting concerned because we've been trying since September, had a bfp in November, but miscarried in December.
He told me I shouldn't look at it as though we've been trying since SEpt., but that we've been trying since January (when I re-started TTC after the m/c). He said not to temp, not to use the CBEFM, just to BD in the missionary position with a pillow under me afterward for 15 minute or so every other day from CD10-CD20.
He also added that other than those days, we could "swing from the chandeliers" if we wanted to.
Part of me was happy to hear what he had to say (he's confident we'll be pg w/i 4 months), part of me was a little surprised.
Any thoughts on his advice? Am I odd that I thought some of the things he said were weird?

what part of what he said did you find odd? I've often heard that missionary is the best baby conveiving position (but i won't pretend to be sure)....

The part where he said we could swing from the chandeliers I found odd.
It's the first time I've been to a male gynecologist, so maybe I'm being overly sensitive. And, honestly, I was encouraged by most of what he said. I'm sure he was just trying to make a joke...I don't know. I'm not used to hearing that sort of thing from 60 year old men I've just met, even if he is a doctor. Probably just my neuroses shining through.

Re: So, I went to the dr. on Monday
i have a feeling that a lot of male docs are more prone to making a joke like that to relax you.
My OB is a woman, but my regular doc was the first doc i spoke to about the fact that we are 'trying'. He looked me in the eyes and said, HAVE FUN...don't make it all about stress...
I was taken aback for a minute and then i realized that i had no idea what to expect him to have said...ya know?

I LOL'ed when i read that he said "swing from chandeliers". I think thats its great that he has a sense of humor. SO many docs are so stiff (thankfully mine isnt either)

You're right. And, honestly, I laughed in his face when he said it. It was later on that I thought it was strange. I guess I'll just be happy he's human and get on with my life.
But yes...."swinging from the chandeliers."

my thoughts exactly. Sounds like he was trying to be honest and encouraging you to "have fun."
I know for us, sex has become a bit of a chore. We need to do it more on the off peak days too.
