ITA!!! That is why no kids are allowed in our pool unless they are strictly supervised by their parents or some adult.
I would have been livid if that was to happen to me.

ITA. That was horrible. Drowning is not something that child should be joking about and DEF NOT the kind of joke his parents should be laughing at.

If the parents reaction continued to be that they thought it was funny after I explained how angry I was, they would have all been asked to leave -- and never invited back.
If the parents had been angry and apologetic, then the kid would never swim at my house again, but they might be invited back... However, their reaction was totally inappropriate.
What a nightmare. I'm so sorry this happened to you!
