So I didnt wanna jinx it... but it looks like its really happening!
My dad is leaving Iraq in 17 days....
He will then be sent to Tenesse and Virgina... for a debriefing or something like that....
So it looks like he will be home the end of July/ beg. of August- or maybe even sooner (he says it usually takes 6 weeks once you get back to the US- BUT they try and rush it along, because they know the soldiers wanna get home to their families...)
He was supposed to be there til the end of October- and then the 6 weeks.... in the US... making him not arrive home til Nov/ Dec....so this was def. a surprise!
Apparently they usually offer the troops- 2- 2 month leaves- but since it was costing them so much $$$ to fly these troops there and back... they offered them a leave of-4 months earlier...(skipping the 2 leaves)
He was really suppoed to leave in june (4 months earlier than October) but it got pushed back.... I wasnt gonna say anything since- nothing is ever written in stone with the military-but it looks like hes got his ticket, and its really happening...
Can you believe it will be over 9 months already??????My son def. has kept everyone in great spirts, and took everyones mind off things!!!
Thanks to all- who helped me through everything (the pupps, my dads' activation/ departure, my mother struggles, my brother struggles, and the latest with my grandma) the past few months were rough... but seem to be coming to smooth pastures!!!

Yes- but only me DH and DS will be there-
I asked if they wanted to come as well.... and they all said- they saw us get married.... and that we should enjoy this time as a family.... so we are!
