How long does Jam last? I bought some at a farmers market & plan to eat it all so that doesn't happen. I also bought some jam-like figs.

Does soup have an expiration date? It gives me the packaging date which is from 2004 but never says when or if it expires. Do I take a chance and eat it or should I throw it out?

I asked this question last year and was startled by the answer of 3-6 months when opened...my poor previous Jam had been sitting for over a year and I had used it just one month prior (I guess I am still here so  )
I threw this one out after opening it 7 months ago in a fit of trying to find SOMETHING that Bella would eat at the time. Barely used freshly jarred jam.
It's a travesty really.

We just came back from a week long trip to Disney.
I started the South Beach Diet yesterday with my DH. He wants to lose weight, I want to eat better. (We'll see how long it lasts)
