Re: Snacks/Food Pre-Prom

Things have certainly changed since I was in HS. We went to a friend's house for pictures and parents did come, but it wasn't a huge thing...there was no food that I can recall. And parents pretty much took their pictures and then went back home. It seems so excessive to me to have a "pre-prom party".

If you want to have food, I would keep it simple. Some bowls of chips/pretzels and bottles of water.

Whenever you host anything - you serve food and drink. Always. Whether you're hosting one person or a bunch. Some finger foods and drinks should be provided.

I do the same but maybe some people were not raised like that. I always want to feed others lol

Same. My prom was in 99 and we had food and drinks etc

Parents stayed after we left and was nice coming home to food too lol

Actually I just heard from a friend that at their pre-prom pictures, 22 years ago, there was food and drinks too.

I think this heavily depends on where you live -- i went to 3 proms in highschool. Two didnt have this, and one had a huge party with catering etc.

My prom was in 1991 and pre prom was at my house. My parents had cheese and crackers, fruit, and small, easy to eat hors d'oeuvres. They also allowed my friends and me to have champagne, but that's a whole different post. Chat Icon
