Smoking update...
Just wanted to let anyone who is trying to quit smoking, to know that Chantix is amazing. I started taking it 12 days ago, and by day 3, I was down to 4 cigarettes and by day 6 I had completely stopped smoking. I have very minor cravings and the side effects are not as bad as I thought. I smoked 2 packs a day for the past 8/9 years.

My sister quit using Chantix. It's the only time she has had any success!! I got a prescription for it but ended up quiting w/o it.

Yes, it is by Rx only... My insurance covered most of it, I pay $30 a month. Without insurance it costs, I believe, $140. Ill be on it for 12-24 weeks depending on my cravings etc. I still have no desire to smoke. Which is amazing considering, DH smokes 2 packs a day also, and its not even tempting me...

congrats. I may ask my doctor next time I go about it. I tried the cold turkey thing, no luck. I lasted 4 days and finally gave into temptation. I was thinking of trying the patch, we will see.

Congratulations!
Quitting was tough for me, I used the patch for 3 days..but didn't like the rash it was giving me. So I stopped using it. But I am almost 3 months cigarette free.
