I totally feel for you. I am not pregnant but I do smoke. I have tried to quit so many times and it is hard. I want to quit now because we are TTC but it is very hard and stressful. I have tried wellbutrin but it can cause side effects if you've ever had problems with sickness such as pneumonia and bronchitis. I could not breath while I was on it. But I just wanted to wish you luck and I think it's awesome you haven't had one for 5 days. You can do it!!!!!!! Keep it up. Maybe cut out some pics of babies in magazines and hang them around your house so everytime you want one you can remember what you are quitting for. Again good luck.
PSSSSTTTT.....It's ok to be a hag when your quitting smoking. I know I am when I try!!!!

Congratulations! Keep up the good work  I waited about a week to test because I too had a hard time quitting. Almost as if not knowing is less harmful to the baby! Well, I got my BFP on January 11 and had my last cig on Janaury 15. It was so hard (and still is!) but each day I feel better and better about myself and my decision.
The hardest thing is that DH is still smoking. He only has 1 at night and claims to have cut down at work  but he knows how much it means to me for him to quit. I keep reminding him that if I can do it, so can he! He will not smoke near me of course but when he puts his coat on to go outside, I make him feel so guilty!
Yay to those of us that did quit (and to those who cut down too). Let's hope as soon as the baby is out we don't just start up again! That is REALLY my biggest fear

Congratulations!!! That's great!!!
I'm only TTC but I was a smoker for many years. MY DH and I both quit in November when I went of birth control and it was extremely difficult, but we both feel GREAT now!!! I promise you it will get easier! Keep up the good work for both yourself and the baby!!!!

I have been a smoker for over 15 years and normally 1/2 pack a day..when I found out I was preg. just THIS week, I am smoking 3-4 a day and I feel like ****, but here is why - I have an anxiety disorder and can't take my meds anymore - xanax. So when I get anxious I smoke, now, I cut down TREMOUDSLY (sp?) but I did not quit...

Congratulations! For those of you who are still struggling, even if you have given up the smokes, there is a great book out there. I just quit right before I found out I was pregnant and I have not had a problem with it AT ALL>
"The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Alan Carr. It really worked.

Quitting smoking is VERY hard - it took me a long time and I have been smoke free for 3 1/2 years.
