small, inexpensive gift ideas for coworkers

We do secret santa for 1 person where our limit is $50 & also all get each other a small gift. Our office recently added a bunch of new employees & can't spend the $10 per gift that I used to in the past for everyone. In the past I would do an Essie polish with file, mug with marshmallows & hot chocolate. This year I need to buy small gifts for 20 people but I seriously have no idea what I can even get for around $5-$6 - Help!
Anyone else's office buy for everyone?

What about an esos chapstick and a scratch off card? Target has the esos chapstick for a great price in the holiday dollar bins.

External Image

Or I would do $5.00 gc's to dunkin donuts.

In target they have the usual dollar bins then by the Xmas stuff they had an area that could be stocking stuffers. They had the chapstick for so cheap. I was like damn why don't I need these for someone LOL

$5 giftcard to dunkin donuts OR starbucks OR panera bread

$5 worth of scratch off cards

$5 worth of candy

or a mix of all of this. I bet you can get holiday chocolates at Costco/Sams Club/BJs and spread it around for cheap like $1-$2.50 a person and then also add like a $1 or $2 scratch offs and a $1 lip balm from the target bin. Things like that. So then there are a few good items but it's still in a $5-$6 range

You can get cute cookie tins really cheap everywhere this time of year so I would make batches of cookies, fill the tin, attach a bag of ground coffee to the top (Target has a nice selection), wrap in cellophane and add ribbon. I did this last year for the guys that work for DH and they LOVED it!

ETA - OR.............just got everyone a bag of ground coffee, wrap in cellophane with a ribbon. Everyone loves coffee!

I actually don't like it myself, LOL, but it's one of those things that won't go to waste. Everyone knows someone who loves coffee and it's good to have in the house for those occasions when you do have guests over who drink it. Chat Icon

You do a grab bag AND still buy for everyone? Whats the point of the grab bag? Sorry I know that's not the point of this postChat Icon

I would do probably do $5 gift cards to DD.

OMG..I thought I was the only one thinking this.

To the OP, yes it's insane. And kinda silly. I mean nobody really needs a $5 gift much less 20 of them. I'd rather pool the money and make a donation as a group. Seriously 20 people x $100 makes a very nice donation.

This exactly! One grab bag gift if anything and the limit should be $20, not $50! These are co-workers, not kids!

Does it count if they act like kids because most of them do? lol
Believe me, I would love to end this.

Yeah I don't see a point doing the grab bag plus getting each other small gifts. I am sure others feel the same way as you but just don't want to be the one to say anything.

We do a secret santa and then some of us get each person a small something. The first year I was in my office I made everyone an ornament (the clear plastic ones with puffy paint), the second year I went to the dollar store and bought everyone an oven mitt, a dish towel and a wooden spoon and tied it up together with a ribbon and then last year I got a great deal on some Mikasa votive holders and I popped in a votive candle and called it a day.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do this year though.
